In the quiet Chief's Office, Gant sat at his desk, legs crossed, flipping through a multitude of documents and reports. Hearing a series of soft, somewhat apprehensive-sounding knocks on his door, he looked up with a smile.
"Come on in!" He exclaimed cheerfully.
Swallowing what remained of the knot in her throat, [Y/N] slowly opened it, before taking a step inside.
"You wanted to see me, sir?" She asked, not fully assured as her eyes peeked over the door to find him.
As she tentatively stepped into the room, Gant's smile widened into a grin.
"Ah, [Y/N]!" He said happily. "You're right on time! Punctual as ever!"
Gathering all sheets of paper on his desk into one pile he set aside, he leaned back on his chair slightly as he folded his hands in his lap.
"Oh, and close the door behind you, before you make your way over here." He ordered her in his jovial, usual tone.
"Yes, sir." She immediately responded with a quick bow of the head.
As per his request, she carefully closed the office door behind her, before she turned back around and paced to his desk.
As she padded her way over to where he was seated, he took a moment to appreciate her small, yet curvy frame: between how she moved, how she dressed, and how she carried herself, she reminded him of a small woodland animal, or something similarly skittish.
Still bearing his amused smile, he tilted his head slightly and gave her an appraising glance upon watching her stop in front of his desk, in front of him.
"Now, then." He started while idly fixing the clasp of his tie. "Knowing you, you're probably wondering why I wanted you in here today... Right?"
Straightening her back fully and placing both of her hands over each other on the front of her skirt, [Y/N] looked her boss in the eyes.
"Yes, sir." She repeated, nodding briefly once more.
He chuckled, the sound warm yet intimidating to her ears.
"[Y/N], my dear, no need to be so tense around me... View me as a friend, rather than as your superior, and relax." He told her in an attempt to ease her mind. "... Swim much lately?"
"As a matter of fact, I have." She answered, her gaze drifting away briefly before she focused back on his face.
"Wonderful! That's great to hear!" He clapped his hands in satisfaction, his tone patronizing. "I've been doing my best trying to encourage more of the department to have communal swimming sessions for a while now, but they always turn me down... At least someone around here understands me."
Taking the time to process his indirect compliment, she looked to the side once again.
"... Swimming is a highly beneficial activity." She hesitantly stated. "It allows you to put your entire body at work, to build strength and endurance, to burn calories efficiently, and to improve sleep... I personally find it quite advantageous when practiced occasionally."
"Couldn't have said it better myself!" He enthused, seemingly proud of her as he clapped his hands once more. "... You and I should have a good ol' session together, one of these days."
A chill ran through her whole body at his suggestion.
"... That'd be my pleasure, sir." She responded with a faintly noticeable smile.
"Splendid, splendid!" He exclaimed joyfully, rubbing his hands together. "In the meantime, you should keep at it. Swimming is a good way to battle stress, I'm sure it could help you in that regard."
Marking a short pause, he opened his eyes and leaned forward in his chair, his joined hands resting on his desk and his gaze resting on her.
"Now, as for why I called you in here..."
Staring straight at her, his smile persisted and a knowing look appeared in his eyes, as if he could peer into her thoughts.
"... I'd like to ask you a bit of a personal question, if you don't mind."
"I don't mind, sir." She told him, her posture as straight as ever, her apprehension barely audible in her voice. "You can ask away."
"Excellent." He remarked in response, seemingly satisfied. "A straightforward, upfront answer. Something we could use more of in this precinct."
Leaning back in his chair, he took a moment to formulate his thoughts before speaking.
"Now, refresh my memory a bit... How long have you been working for the force, again?"
"5 years, sir." She answered, nodding briefly. "But only 2 of those years have been spent in this precinct, since I was once working in another jurisdiction before being assigned here."
"Ah, I appreciate the clarification." He acknowledged, taking in the information with a nod of his own. "... So, you started in that other jurisdiction and were then transferred here, yes?"
"That... is correct, yes." She replied, somewhat frustrated.
How can he not remember? She thought.
Yet, even stranger, why was it that him not remembering her resume affected her so much?
Pushing her thought aside, however, she put herself in his shoes and rationalized the situation: a man like him, in such a position of power, was surely incapable of keeping track of each and every detail of each and every one of his subordinates' lives, knowing how many of them he had employed. Besides, five years was already a while back for the two of them, she could not blame him for having forgotten her history.
"... Now, I don't know if you recall your first week or so of your arrival here." He started, idly tugging at his hair as he mused. "... But do you remember talking to me on your very first day?"
[Y/N] was caught off guard by his seemingly trivial question, but only a little; however, she needed a moment to organize her thoughts, to pick the correct way to answer him.
"... I do indeed recall my first day here, sir... However, I did not get to talk to you, then." She told him, her eyes drifting away momentarily. "At the time, you hadn't yet been promoted Chief of Police... I believe you were Deputy Chief. You and most of the precinct were very busy working on a particular case... SL-9 was its name, I believe."
Once more, she paused: only this time, her expression looked more sorrowful than pensive.
"... Given I was only a new recruit to this jurisdiction, the investigation never reached me and I was kept out of it. About a week after my arrival, the case was closed, and you became Chief as you are now... Only then did I get to make your acquaintance."
As he listened to her talk, he kept his eyes on her face, his expression unreadable; then, there was a short moment of silence between the two of them after she had spoken her last word.
"... Very impressive memory." He commented nonchalantly, bringing up a hand to his bearded chin. "You remember the name of the case, even though you weren't assigned to it, my position at the time, even though I hadn't been introduced to you yet, and my following promotion, even though you had only been there for a week... You even remember our first meeting."
She could not prevent the thin blush on her cheeks and the shy, bashful look in her eyes.
"I... have been praised countless times for my memory, ever since I joined the force... However, these are only details of events that mean a lot to me, as they symbolize the beginning of my career here... It's only natural for me to remember such things, they're not to be forgotten." She said in response, as if to justify herself.
Yet, his compliment had still managed to affect her a little.
"... Nevertheless, thank you kindly, sir." She added, gently bowing to him.
At her gesture, Gant sighed to himself.
"My, my... Here you go again. Always so uptight, formal, and polite with me." He grumbled, shaking his head with feigned disappointment. "I've told you many times before, [Y/N]. There's no need for you to be so proper around me, especially not with all the bowing and whatnot."
His words cut her breath short.
"Ah—"
With a slightly panicked gasp, she immediately straightened her back and stood upright; as if the sheer tone of his voice had sent a shockwave through her.
"Sorry, sir..." She muttered apologetically and looked straight ahead.
Upon hearing the anxiety in her voice, his face softened and he gave her an understanding look, accompanied by a brief chuckle.
"Here you go again..." He repeated himself, his voice slightly gentler this time. "Don't apologize. I didn't mean to startle you. I'm just saying you don't need to be so formal and stiff with me, especially not in private... We're not on duty at the moment, for Christ's sake. So relax a bit, will you? Frankly, it breaks my heart seeing you be so scared of me."
"I'm not scared of you, sir." She corrected him, her voice gentle, earnest, wanting him to believe her.
Her soft and delicate-looking lips remained slightly parted for a moment, as though she had more she wanted to say, perhaps a way to justify herself once more, but she remained quiet.
As her words came to his ears, he was tempted to laugh but resisted the urge; still, his smirk was ever as present.
"Really, now? If that's so... how are you feeling right now, if not scared?" He questioned, his eyebrow cocked in silent amusement.
She took a deep breath; that question was one she was nervous about answering, but she knew he expected her to be honest with him.
She opened her lips again, just a little, yet all that came out was hot air.
She closed her eyes, trying to calm her unsteady heartbeat, before she slowly, shyly looked into his eyes.
"In—... Intimidated." She murmured in response.
His smirk widened ever so slightly at her reply, his attention focused wholly on her.
"And why, pray tell, would a little thing like yourself feel intimidated by a man such as me?" He enquired playfully.
"... I believe you've just answered your own question, sir." She told him after some pondering. "You're my superior... As such, I aim to please you... I want to meet your expectations. Your status is much higher than mine, and you have much more experience than me... I have a lot of respect for you, and with it comes a desire to be the best I can be, for the sake of the department... for your sake."
As she explained herself, he found himself both amused and impressed: the fact that she wanted to make herself as perfect as she could be, and for his sake nonetheless did not go unnoticed by him.
"... That's quite the answer you've given me." He remarked while running a hand over his bearded chin. "... Very detailed, too. I was half-expecting you to say something along the lines of 'Because you're twice my size'."
"Well—"
A pause; short, but heavy.
"... It'd be a lie for me to say there isn't a part of... truth to this." She admitted.
Her voice was shy, her cheeks were pink, and her mind was fuzzier than ever: clearly, she was extremely embarrassed.
"... If I may, sir... Your... physique certainly does play a part, as well... Your grand stature is quite... imposing. Additionally, it's... undeniable you have a strong presence... I will admit this all contributes to the way I... behave around you."
Amusement: that was the only way he could describe the feeling brewing inside him. Oh, how cute she looked when she spoke like that, so shy, so timid, so innocent.
"... You're sweet, you know that?" He told her with a smirk. "I never would've taken you for such a smooth talker... That's quite the flattery you've given me."
Seeing her get so flustered, so shy, such a blushing mess, all for his sake, all because of him: it was almost endearing to him, in a way. But, mostly, it was arousing. He relished the power he had over her at that moment.
A powerful, manipulative, charming, and handsome man like himself could make someone as vulnerable and delicate as [Y/N] all weak in the knees with just his speech and his presence alone. That sheer thought and the feeling it gave him was a thrill unlike any other.
Slowly, he rose to his feet, still smiling, and started to make his way around his desk, hands in his pockets, towards the trembling woman in front of him.
"... You certainly know how to make a man feel good, don't you, [Y/N]?" He said in a low tone, his smirk now turning into a sly grin. "... Your partner must be quite the satisfied man, with you by his side."
At that, the young woman's blush deepened into a light red.
"... Actually... I currently have no partner... sir." She informed him, visibly ashamed, her tone low, her eyes looking away.
The news made another wave of excitement run through Gant's body; a look that could have only been described as pure satisfaction washed over his face as her timid, nervous confession came to his ears.
"No partner?" He repeated with exaggerated surprise. "You're telling me a beautiful, kind, and respectful woman like yourself is single?"
He took a few more steps towards her, his pace slow and methodical.
"How intriguing..." He mused with a smirk, studying every little nuance of her expression. "I'd have bet a woman like yourself would have men begging to take you out... But I assume you've actually yet to find a man to your liking, who fits your standards... Am I correct?"
Yes, he was correct; of course, he was correct. But [Y/N] simply could not allow herself to answer him: she could not convince herself to speak up and validate his theory.
So, instead, she remained utterly silent, keeping her thoughts to herself, and continued looking away.
Another wave of enjoyment went through his body at her silence, at the sight of her completely cornered by him, by his words.
"... In that case, then... I do wonder what sort of man a woman like yourself would find most attractive." He spoke, the smirk never leaving his face. "For example, do you find yourself attracted to men who are, say... much older than you?"
He was now standing right next to her, looking down at her from his towering height as he rested his right hand on the surface of his desk.
"... Or, perhaps, men with high statuses, who possess a lot of power?" He added, his deep voice barely above a whisper as he stared at her intently.
His eyes slowly trailed down from her eyes to her lips, then came back up again. He took a moment to study her face; her rosy cheeks, her timid, almost fearful expression, her breathlessness. The poor thing's heart was palpitating so fast, he could almost hear it hammering in her chest.
He found her state so endearing and entertaining. It was almost adorable seeing her act so tense and on edge like that.
"... Could even be both, I suppose." He continued in that same tone, smooth and quiet, yet also teasing. "An older man with the right standing in the community, preferably, someone with quite a lot of control over the people beneath him, someone with a lot of authority, with a lot of power..."
He was so close to her now, he could smell the light, flowery scent of her hair, a fragrance so sweet and refreshing it made him want to bury his face in it. The urge to touch her, to take hold of her and feel her frail, delicate body beneath his fingers, to possess her entirely, was very strong at that moment.
"I assume you find that sort of man quite appealing." He said with a voice lower than her breath. "A commanding man, with a presence that's impossible to ignore, a man you wouldn't easily be able to escape from, even if you tried."
He leaned down towards her, slightly, just slightly, just enough for his voice to come whispering straight into her ear.
"... Someone like me, perhaps?"
[Y/N]'s eyes opened wide, a mute gasp getting stuck in her throat; she felt her chest tighten, as if she was being deprived of oxygen.
She wanted to answer him. To tell him that he was right. That he was exactly right. But nothing came out of her, her nervousness, embarrassment, and timidity all too strong for her to even open her mouth, as if her lips were sewn.
Her body was frozen, stiffer than ever, and all she could do was stand there, overwhelmed by his presence, by his body beside her, by his voice in her ear.
Gant chuckled, his smile turning into a knowing smirk as he witnessed her reaction. Her tense body, her silent gasp, her inability to answer him; everything about her in that moment was so precious to his eyes, because it all symbolized how much she was utterly dominated by his mere presence.
"... Well, it's alright." He whispered into her ear as he assessed her silence. "You don't have to answer me. I can tell I'm right from just looking at you."
He slowly brought up his left hand to her face and ran his gloved fingertips down the side of her cheek before gently hooking them under her chin, very carefully raising her head until their eyes met.
"I can see it in your eyes... You're terrified." He said with a dark smile. "And yet, you find yourself unable to move away from me... Don't you?"
His hold on her chin kept her head raised for his viewing, forcing her to look straight into the green of his eyes.
"Because while I intimidate you, I also excite you, don't I?" He continued, leaning forward to be just a few inches away from her. "You feel the need to be perfect for me, you need me to acknowledge you, to pay heed to your hard work, to notice and praise your efforts... Because you find my praise more rewarding than anything else."
His hand moved from her chin to her cheek, gently caressing her skin with his thumb in a circular motion as he continued to stare into her wide eyes.
"You feel excited every time you come into this office, knowing I'll be here. You relish the idea of speaking to me, of pleasing me, of me giving you my attention."
Gant simply loved how she responded to him, how she could do nothing but just stand there, in his grasp: the amount of control he had over her in that moment was so sweet, so thrilling.
He began to gently run his thumb across her bottom lip, watching her expression and taking in every single second of it.
At the touch, [Y/N] quivered. The cold, thick leather on her lip felt good, so good, so much so that it was intoxicating. She was paralyzed, completely trapped, and all she could do was stand there.
But as she stared into his eyes beyond the pink-tinted glasses, she could feel it: desire. She let him slowly part her lips open and locked gazes with him, her eyes needy.
The look in her eyes brought yet another wave of excitement through his body. She looked so submissive, so willing to let him do anything to her, and it was a view that sent a shiver through his spine. He felt his trousers tighten at the sight of this trembling, weak woman, at the sight of her wanting him so badly.
He could not resist it any longer: the urge to feel her lips against his own and the desire to taste her were far too strong not to be allowed. He leaned in towards her, slowly, until his mouth finally made contact with hers.
His lips were firm and demanding against hers, taking full dominance over her with ease while his left hand slid down from her face to the side of her neck, cupping the nape and gripping her skin with his fingers.
Before she could even process what was happening, she was taken away: she felt Gant's lips press on hers, she felt his right hand leave his desk and reach for her hip, she felt his body forcefully moving her around, she felt her lower back come in contact with the desk behind her, she felt the muffled gasp that left her throat as it all happened.
His hand on her hip squeezed her hard, pushing her to sit on the edge of the desk and allowing him to position himself between her open legs as the hand on her neck pulled her towards him further. His lips continued moving over hers, parting her open, his tongue starting to explore her mouth hungrily.
His fingers on her hip promptly traveled upward and stopped at the front of her shirt, blindly, dominantly unbuttoning it as he pushed his body against hers and pinned her in place on the desk. Both of their chests rose and fell rhythmically in rapid succession, as he ravaged her mouth with his.
He broke the kiss after what felt like an eternity, only to quickly find a new target in the curve of her neck: he proceeded to plant hot, wet kisses and licks on her sensitive skin, while his hand continued to unfasten the buttons of her shirt.
[Y/N] barely had enough time to catch her breath after their kiss that needy sighs and gasps of pleasure left her lips at the sensation of his mouth on her neck, of his thick beard on her flesh, of his hands working to undress her.
Against her own volition, her twitching hands reached up to his arms and shoulders, her fingers shyly holding him.
"C-Chief Gant—" She let out in what was both a gasp and a sigh.
He pulled away from her neck just a little, hovering mere inches above her now exposed collarbone as his hands began to push her shirt off her shoulders.
"I don't want to hear you call me 'Chief' right now." He mumbled in a breathless, low voice.
Her eyes widened: never before would she have even fathomed the idea of calling him by his first name, of employing it to address him. But in that instant, he wanted her to.
Timidly, she clung to his body just a bit tighter.
"Y-Yes, sir— I-I mean... D-Damon..."
He let out a quiet, pleased hum as he heard her say his name. It sounded so good to him, so delicious on her quivering, breathless lips. The sheer sound of it made everything even more thrilling, more exciting, leading him to feel his manhood throb from the confines of his trousers.
"Good girl." He murmured on her bare skin as her shirt slid down her body.
He began to slowly run his hands over her exposed, supple skin; over her arms, her shoulders, her collarbone, and her breasts over the lacy fabric of her bra. His touch was firm and dominant, mapping out every curve and dip in its path.
"You've got such lovely skin..." He said, his voice now a deep, low growl as he caressed her, as he admired her perfect body. "... And it's all for me, isn't it?"
The young woman shivered at the cool, rough sensation of his gloved palms gliding over her flesh. As she let him drink in the sight of her defenseless figure, she sheepishly looked up into his emerald eyes and nodded shyly.
His mouth came back to her neck and he began planting more kisses and licks, mixed in with the occasional bite that was not quite painful, but also not gentle enough to feel pleasant. His hands glided over the warm, smooth skin of her slender back, moving upward to the clasp of her bra.
While his mouth continued its assault on her vulnerable neck, his fingers gently played with the hook, trying to undo it without looking: however, it only seemed to make matters worse, his large hands far too big and his gloves far too cumbersome.
"Damn it—" He muttered annoyingly against her neck.
Noting his frustration and impatience, [Y/N] thought for a second before hesitantly speaking up.
"Do... Do you want me to..." She shyly asked, her offer left unfinished as she reached for her back with her hands to meet his.
He looked up at her face in mild surprise as she spoke and saw her shyly move her small, delicate hands to help his fumbling ones. He could do nothing but take in the sight of that slender, fragile body of hers at that moment, and he felt his desire for her spike even more.
"... Yes, do that for me." He said in a breathless, commanding voice.
As he spoke, he leaned back slightly and, as if to pass the time while waiting for her to take off her bra, his hands promptly began to expertly remove his suit.
His suit unbuttoned, he shrugged the article of clothing off his shoulders then decided to remove his gloves; as they came off, revealing his large, powerful hands, he quickly returned them to his chest as he swiftly rid himself of his tie.
Just as her fingers had grabbed hold of the hooks of her bra, she went stiff: there, to her eyes, was a sight that surpassed even those from her wildest fantasies, the sight of him undressing right in front of her, for her eyes, a body she was about to see partially bare for the first time, and which made her heart beat exponentially faster.
She took a breath in and tried keeping her composure when she saw him starting to unbutton the last remnant of his upper body, his black shirt; in tandem with his movements, she slowly, timidly undid the clasp of her bra, before removing it and discarding it on the floor.
Gant felt her eyes on his chest as he removed his shirt, he felt her gaze on his bare torso. Her eyes on him made the thrill even more powerful, the sight of her seeing his strong muscles, his wide shoulders, and his firm pecs; it made his hunger for her even stronger.
His eyes darted down to her chest as she removed her bra and he sucked a sharp breath from the sight. She looked perfect.
Even through his pink-lensed glasses, he could see everything he wanted to: her soft, perky breasts, her round, rosy nipples, her flushed face and quivering lips. He stared hungrily, his gaze locking on her before he quickly came to stand in front of her once more, his body towering above hers.
Both of his hands promptly found her now-exposed chest: his touch was demanding, his grip on her skin firm and almost possessive as he explored every curve and inch of her, his lust progressively rising.
"... You have no idea how much I'm going to enjoy taking you." He growled, his breath hot and heavy as he spoke.
His palms inched up to her breasts, cupping, squeezing, before his fingers moved to the rosy nubs and pinched them between his thumbs and forefingers: and all the while, his sharp, piercing eyes drank her in.
[Y/N] moaned upon feeling his touch, her eyes squinted and her shoulders heaving. She felt utterly owned, her flesh melting in his palms, molded through his fingers, her torso fully offered to him, her chest feeling so small in his big, dominant grasp.
He savored the sounds of her moans and watched her shudder with satisfaction as he toyed with her sensitive skin: he could see in her eyes how powerless she was to his whims, how much she was willing to give him.
He leaned in and lowered his head, moving to bite, lick, and suckle on the tender surface of her neck.
As he continued to take over her body with his burning touches, he let one of his hands idly wander down the smooth, bare skin of her side and around to her back, his hands moving lower while he kept his lips on her neck.
Finding her waist, he did not waste any time grabbing the top of her skirt: he promptly undid the button on her hip, his movements meticulous as he pushed the thin fabric down her legs, past her knees, and around her ankles, before letting it drop to the floor.
He continued to push his body against hers, his left hand remaining on her hip and holding her down while his right moved across the front of her underwear. His touch was deliberate and confident as his thumb and forefinger hooked around the top of her panties.
As he slowly began pulling the item of clothing off of her, he raised his head from her neck.
"Lift your legs." He ordered her in a low, commanding voice.
At that, [Y/N]'s limbs were like paralyzed: eyes wide opened, she stared up into Gant's gaze in realization. She was about to completely give herself over to him. She was about to let him admire her, fully bare. She was about to be at her most vulnerable, right on the very desk of his own office. It was all so exhilarating, so scary, so thrilling, so stressful. And she wanted it.
Her gaze in his, she swallowed and nodded briefly, before she obeyed and lifted her legs for him.
Excitement coursed throughout his being as he watched her raise her legs for him. It was so incredibly empowering to know he had her completely at his mercy: there she was, that young, fragile, innocent thing, submitting herself to him, the almighty District Chief of Police who dominated everything and everyone in his path.
He firmly pushed her legs apart and stepped closer, standing between them as he slowly removed her underwear.
Once the last piece of clothing was tossed away, he stood back and enjoyed the luscious view of her naked, trembling body, of her curves, of her smoothness, of her flesh, of the pink of her flush.
"Such a pretty, young thing..." He whispered to her, his hands finding her inner thighs.
He moved slowly over her, caressing her flesh, tracing his fingers back and forth as he moved them inward.
"Such a pretty, young detective... who looks nothing like her typical, proper self." He continued, his face inches apart from hers. "... You know what you look like right now?"
She bashfully looked up at his face, her legs gently trembling under his touch; a spark of helplessness in her gaze.
"A... A w-whore?" She replied quietly, unsure as to whether that was the answer he had expected.
Gant laughed. A deep, loud, genuine, wholehearted laugh.
"My, my... I was about to say 'a plaything, a toy handmade specifically for me, all for me to use and move around'..." He started, a smirk playing on his lips.
He leaned in even more, until his mouth was right next to her ear.
"... But 'whore' actually fits just as well." He finished, his lips tickling her skin as he spoke.
He gently kissed her ear. Just the slightest, most gentle touch of his lips, but it felt so good, and sent such chills through her body. He nipped at the curve of her ear and slowly moved down to her neck, while his hands spread her legs further apart.
He left a few more kisses below her ear and along her jaw before moving back to her lips: hungrily placing one more time his mouth on hers, he then withdrew from her. His hands left her legs, somewhat reluctantly to move to his own waist, to the front of his pants.
He undid his belt, his eyes still fixed on her. Then, letting it fall to the floor after a brief moment, he proceeded to unbutton and unzip the front of his suit pants.
Soon, they, too fell to the ground next to the rest of their discarded clothes, and he kicked them to the side, leaving only one last article of clothing between them: his black boxer briefs, which had by then grown tight and restraining.
He could feel the tension. He could see her eyes fixate on the thin fabric that did a poor job of hiding his member, on the visible bulge, on the tension and anticipation that he felt all throughout his body. The look on her face was exquisite; the way she quivered, her body so tight and so warm.
He made sure to enjoy that look on her face for a moment longer, then he slowly moved a hand to the top of his boxers, hooking the edges with the tips of his fingers while his palm pulled it down.
[Y/N] watched intensely as his boxers moved lower and lower, revealing more and more of his flesh: his hips, his abdominal muscles, his thighs, until, finally, they fell and joined the other clothes on the floor, leaving him completely bare. The young woman's eyes instinctively opened wide at the sight of his manhood, now free from its confines and visibly rock-hard.
Gant took note of the look in her eyes and chuckled smugly. He had every right to feel pleased with himself: despite his age, he was still a man at his physical peak. And, being the arrogant, egotistical, narcissistic man that he was, he could not help but be proud of himself for sparking such feelings of desire in the young woman's heart.
He took a step, bringing his body to stand right in front of hers on the desk. Taking her hips in his hands, he pulled her forward, sliding her body closer to him while he spread her legs just a bit more, positioning himself between her thighs.
He held her gaze for a moment, the air thick between them. Her soft, smooth skin was against his rough, calloused hands. Her warm, supple breasts were squeezed against his bare torso.
Her face was only inches apart from his.
"I've waited so, so long for this..." He murmured huskily, his voice a low growl as he spoke.
He inhaled her scent once more, his hand raising to move against her hair, his fingers tangling into her silky locks.
"... And I'm going to enjoy every single second of it."

So. I've been making the thumbnails for a series me and some friends have been doing for a few months at this point. We're doing some (Halfway accurate) dubs of Ace Attorney! It's called The Defense Rests, and you can find it on the Totallyjazzed channel on Youtube. please watch us I need the validation
I am the voice of, among others, Winston Payne, Manfred von Karma, Matt Engarde, and Luke Atmey. There's plenty of others, but those are my favorites.
So anyway, I'm gonna put the thumbnails below the cut here and hope those convince you to at least give us a shot.
Tumblr media
1-1! I was really out of practice when I made this. I could've made the ghost Phoenix look SO much better, and actually make the Sahwit work with the bit in the actual video. See, we make jokes about how his head does not move despite his whole body constantly swaying, and compared him to the gyroscopic chicken. I couldn't do what I was going for with his neck at the time, and had to settle for rotating him 180°, but I think I could do it nowadays.
Tumblr media
Okay how the Hell do I explain 1-3. Okay so to start with the only thumbnail I didn't make was the 1-2 one. And uh. Here you can see us disliking Sal on every possible level and deciding he should go to Hell?? I dunno, I made this mid-video, and. Have you looked at it. Oldbag taking fully clothed pictures in the bathtub standing up was just. A thing that happened in this case because of us. For some reason. And now it's everyone's problem.
Tumblr media
Okay, with 1-4 we're starting to pick up speed in terms of the thumbnails, as we get to the first one I genuinely feel pretty proud of. 1-1 was somewhat basic and 1-3 was. Just plain weird. But then we got to 1-4 and I made TDR: DL of 6. It's directly based on Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow, though Von Karma's location is more based on Dracula from the original Castlevania. Don't mind that most of them are see-through, it's because almost everyone in TDR is a ghost. We get carried away at times. Fun fact: This wasn't gonna be the thumbnail! I made it before we started recording for fun, but we ended up going with it anyway.
Tumblr media
1-5! Another one that doesn't make much sense, but this time I really like it. In clockwise order, Winston Payne keeps dying and was the Ghost³ of Winston Payne by this point in the series, Von Karma, Damon Gant, and Redd White were on Boys Night which involves drugs, and Jake Marshall's joke evolved from MAH INFINITE BEARD to MAH INFINITE TEXAS to MAH INFINITE [blank]. It's not terribly complicated, but it worked amazingly with the TDR version of the case.
Please make fun of Winston Payne for looking like he's Animorphing if you want to, we encourage it.
Tumblr media
2-1: WELCOME TO PAYNE THEORY! Definitely one of my favorites to make, but it doesn't have as much basis in the jokes we make during the case as I'd like, aside from the Custom Made Glove and the Lobster. I generally think 2-1 was just okay, so I didn't have any other ideas for what to do for it.
Tumblr media
2-2 IS MY FAVORITE END RESULT OF ANY OF THESE THUMBNAILS. Practically everything in it references a joke made in the video to some extent, from Payne's kazoo, Hotti wanting to steal every organ, The Bloodlement, and the part where we played tic-tac-toe on Pearl... It's all here. And it coheres amazingly. I'm incredibly happy with it.
Tumblr media
I think we all know what 2-3 is like. Moe the Clown throwing hands with J. Udge carried it for us. They should fight onscreen. It is written that Moe's back was about to shatter and create a whole new case from how hard he was carrying the case.
Tumblr media
HERE WE GO HERE WE GO HERE WE GO. 2-4 started my little personal tradition of taking every final thumbnail in a game seriously, though that was already starting to form in 1-4. This had my favorite development phase of any of the thumbnails, and I don't regret a second of it. I also finally learned how to use a new tool or two in my editing software because of it! Wonderful! It's not all serious, though. Wendy Oldbag is still very much the Blue Eyes White Woman.
Tumblr media
...I didn't have any ideas for 3-1. We settled on making it a discord flashback for all the characters involved (And Redd White) ((And The Poison Genie)) during a session of Buck Bumble.
Tumblr media
I love Luke Atmey with all my heart. He's really funny, and some of the most fun I've had in The Defense Rests. I made his superpower identity theft and had him boast about how he could "Steal your place in the thumbnail of this video!", which resulted in this. Don't mind that the bag looks like that, I had very little to work with.
I ran out of my 10 permitted images, so. I guess I'll do 3-3 through 3-5 and the scrapped thumbnails in a reblog after I finish tagging this.

Could the Wright Anything Agency catch Agent 47?
Assumptions
I'm analyzing this under the pretext that Agent 47 has killed someone and sticks around under the same cover to scope out another target in the same area. The person 47 was disguised as at the time gets framed for the murder and the WAA take the case, looking into this "Tobias Rieper" guy when it starts to seem like he might be involved.
Neither has any prior information on the other going in.
Pre-Disbarment Phoenix
Given the Timelines of both franchises, this is Phoenix going up against World of Assassination Era 47. That is.... not good.
Basically, 47 is at his prime both in his abilities as an assassin and his resources with the ICA and he's going up against Nick back when he still needed Mia's advice from time to time.
Okay, that is unfair. Phoenix has taken down some very tough cookies. Damon Gant, Manfred Von Karma, Matt Engarde, and so on. All of whom were either very connected, very intelligent, or both. 47 is very much both.
I do genuinely think 47 can talk his way around the Magatama. 47 at this point has a particular habit of speaking when undercover, where he'll tell technical truths as a little private joke to himself. Lies of omission. Much like how Matt Engarde got around it by technicality, I do think 47 could as well.
Example: "Hey, doc, what's in that shot you're giving me?" "Floral extracts. Mostly belladonna." "Uh, isn't that poisonous? Shouldn't I be worried?" "I'm not. Just sit back, it'll all be over soon." Etc.
Not straight up lies, just not giving an entirely upfront answer.
That said, the name "Tobias Rieper" mosy definitely would cause a ding, because 47 himself doesn't consider himself as having one. That'll probably be what prompts Nick into poking around.
47 takes care to avoid getting recorded or photographed, and takes time to destroy such evidence when he has to, so Nick's gonna have to rely on witness testimony to prove 47's disguise didn't match his client. His basic Pressing techniques should be enough on that front, getting them to mention 47's completely hairless physique, tall stature, monotone voice, etc by pressing for more detail.
That said, I don't think Nick can genuinely catch 47 out with anything. He was genetically engineered to not leave a trace behind, so he can't grow hair and might not even have fingerprints. He prides himself on the bodies either not being found until hours after he's gone or spinning his kills as elaborate accidents. Nick can definitely bluff and theorize his way into working out how 47 did it, but without any proof, all he can do is prove it couldn't have been his client.
Also, First Game Nick dies here. Dude almost got himself assassinated by the mafia and 47 won't hesitate with that fiber wire.
That said, 47 does play into Nick's hand a little bit. He's been known to concoct overly elaborate kills that only he could ever possibly pull off just to make things interesting and if there's one talent Nick has its untangling convoluted murder plots through logical leaps no one else is willing to make.
47 also canonically has an "aura of death" that psychics can sense because of how many people he's killed. Don't know if the Magatama or Maya can pick up on that, as that's not really in their wheelhouse, but it's there if you want to argue it.
Similarly, 47 has met ghosts before, so he's liable to put his guard up if Mia tries to interject. Hell, he's met actual Santa too.
Also, if Phoenix does get his man, he'll have incurred the wrath of the entire ICA so... lose-lose really.
Ultimately, I think Nick can get his client off the hook, but he won't be able to corner a man as slippery as 47. 47 covers his tracks too carefully. 5/10, would solve case, would not catch killer.
Post-Disbarment Phoenix
A lot of Nick's advantages from before still carry over, but with a few extra notes.
First off, timeline wise, this is Freelancer Era 47. 47 no longer has an entire international assassination agency backing him up and now relies on his contacts in the black market and Diana Burnwood to get around. He also has a home he can be traced back to while previously he moved around constantly.
This time, Phoenix is the one with higher resources, as he has connections to Interpol through Edgeworth and connections to Khura'in through Apollo. He has the means to organize an international manhunt if he has to.
Nick is also a lot more willing and able to play the long game. Take his seven year plan against Kristoph or his collaboration with Edgeworth to catch The Phantom, for instance. Nick won't stoop to the lows he did against Kristoph again, as that came about from him being at the lowest point in his life, but his plan there proves he's absolutely able to play the long term Chessmaster when silly bluffing lawyer man won't cut it.
Again, Nick won't be able to catch 47 on their first run in. He just runs too tight a ship. Unlike previously, Nick will have the means to conduct follow up investigation and won't have to do so with a massive target on his back because the ICA doesn't exist anymore.
That said, a 47 whose at the top of his game is still a bit more than the Interpol of Ace Attorney can handle. It will take a lot of planning to create a trao that 47 can't just shoot his way out of. Most likely by going after Diana, but it'll take awhile for him to figure out she even exists. Diana's a force to be reckoned with on her own.
In brief, he can, but he'd have to dedicate a significant chunk of his life to it, pulling every string he has through connections and friendships. 9/10
Apollo Justice
Gonna be blunt, perceive is not gonna work. Like, flat out.
47 doesn't have body ticks. He's unnaturally stiff at all times, even while relaxing and having fun. He doesn’t emote or react or change his tone of voice in a situation. There wouldn't be a microexpression to give away the lie because 47 barely has expressions.
That said, he's just as good at the classic approach as Phoenix is, so a lot of what I said there applies here. Press for more testimony and point out the physical discrepancies that come from that.
Of note, if the crime takes place in Khura'in, then the Divination Seance may screw 47 over. He's had entire conversations with targets before killing them, after all, so it could catch him right there if he's not more careful than usual.
That said, Khura'in by itself doesn't have nearly the presence or resources to catch 47 on the follow through unless he stays relatively close by geographically, so even with all of Khura'in's investigative abilities focusing him, 47 should escape afterwards just fine.
Unless you count Apollo bringing in Phoenix to bring in Edgeworth and Interpol, Apollo just doesn't have the right deck to play with 47. 7/10 because Divination Seance and death aura might get 47 in Khura'in though.
Athena Cykes
On the opposite side of the spectrum, Athena basically hard counters 47.
A seemingly emotionless assassin whose a master of disguise. Think I've heard that one before....
That said, 47 isn't just Phantom 2. He does actually have emotions. He just buries them deeeeeeeep in there.
Honestly, 47 is a massive trauma magnet with a lot of damage upstairs. He was genetically designed to be an assassin from the ground up, waa abused all his childhood in an attempt to purge all emotion and empathy from him, had to witness the first family he ever had he shot and killed in front of him to "teach him a lesson", was drugged into believing he killed his best friend and brother for years, and now has to live with the fact that he killed the parents of the one person left in the world that he cares about. Just... that's rough buddy.
Yeah, Athena would hear nothing when 47 talks about the murder and hear a biiiiiiiig blip when someone says the name Diana or Lucas and that's a big give away.
Could Athena talk him into giving up his career? That's a big if. 47's been kicking the can around in his head for awhile and he always comes back to "killing bad people is the one thing I enjoy in life" so... I'm not optimistic.
She also has no way of actually apprehending him, with none of Apollo's or Phoenix's resources (beyond having them in speed dial, at least).
That said, she'd shake him to his core in the way the other two could never. He'd come out respecting Apollo and Nick but shaken by Athena and that's a big win.
All of them:
Combine all those advantages and what do ya get?
That's a conviction several years in the making, my friend.

Ace Attorney Bonds of Fate Case 2: Turnabout Forgiveness Part 2: Investigation Day 1
Here is the script of the second case of Bonds of Fate, an Ace Attorney game that I came up with. It’s a fan made sequel to Spirit of Justice and takes place 2 years after Spirit of Justice. This isn’t a parody, this is what I would actually write if I was able to make a new Ace Attorney game.
Previous Cases:
Turnabout Express
Turnabout Forgiveness Part 1
Turnabout Forgiveness Summary:
During the last few years, Franziska Von Karma has been trying to improve herself. She took a sabbatical from prosecuting and has been going to counseling for her many issues. During this time she has became a more calm and approachable person, but is now riddled with guilt at her past misdeeds. She started her road to redemption by confessing to using falsified evidence in multiple trials so they can all get a fair retrial, resulting in her own disbarment. Her next step in the road to redemption is to host a gathering where she invites many of the people she has wronged in the past in order to apologize and make amends. This includes Phoenix Wright and many of his old friends. At the gathering, Phoenix actually gets along with and befriends the new Franziska. Unfortunately, things take a dark turn. Phoenix and  are both shot. Phoenix miraculously survives. When the lights turn on, Franziska is holding a gun, but she tearfully insists that she didn’t do it. Now Phoenix is defending his former rival/new friend in court against the surprisingly adept rookie Prosecutor Heal Yur Payne. This is despite Phoenix being one of the people Franziska is accused of shooting, and the fact that if Franziska is innocent, then the true killer is likely one of his friends.
Stuff that happens in the part:
Phoenix and Co begin their investigation
Phoenix and Co decide which Scooby Doo Character they are
We meet Edgeworth’s ditzy protege Electra Kute
We visit Gumshoe’s store
Edgeworth wrote a book. Let’s see what Maya thinks of it.
We learn more about Franziska’s family
DETENTION CENTER ANIME CUTSCENE
FRANZISKA VON KARMA is sitting at a table in the police interrogation room. She's looking down dejected. EMA SKYE is sitting on the other side of the table, she is wearing an ear piece. There is a girl on the other side of the mirror watching the interrogation. She is in silhouette except her glasses are opaque. It's clear she's looking right at Franziska. ANGEL STARR is standing up. Her hair is on the nice side.
Note: I wanted an aggressive detective, especially for this scene, for reasons that will become apparent. I was originally going to make it a new character, but I decided to bring Angel Starr back. I like her hair flip gimmick and it felt like a better idea to bring back a familiar face instead of a new character. It will be later explained that she got her detective job back shortly after Damon Gants' arrest.
ANGEL STARR:    Franziska Von Karma, it's been years! I remember working for you.
Angel flips her hair to the mean side. She now has a scar over her eye.
ANGEL STARR:    You made sure I would never forget!
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    I'm very sorry Angel.
Angel cracks her knuckles.
ANGEL STARR:    You're going to feel way more sorry by the time I'm through with you.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    If it will make you feel better to beat me, then go ahead.
Angel raises her fist.
EMA SKYE:    Angel! Heal wants you to stop!
ANGEL STARR:    UGH!!! Of course Heal wants me to stop!
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    Heal? Who's Heal?
EMA SKYE:    She's the one prosecuting your case. She's watching behind the mirror.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    She. A female prosecutor. I guess that's fitting. It felt like I was the only one when I working here.
ANGEL STARR:    Well Heal needs to understand that I have a way of interrogating suspects and I want my revenge!
EMA SKYE:    It's not time for that! You're getting in the way of what she's trying to do! Heal told me you'll have to leave if you're going to be combative towards the suspect!
Franziska starts looking confused.
ANGEL STARR:    Fine! I'll leave then!
Angel starts walking out.
EMA SKYE:    Wait! Before you leave, can you help me move the table to the side?
               ANGEL STARR:    What? Why?
EMA SKYE:    Heal says it's necessary.
               ANGEL STARR:    Ok fine!
Angel and Ema move the table to the side.
               ANGEL STARR:    Fine! Anything else!?
Ema listens on her earpiece.
EMA SKYE:    Heal wants us to bring Franziska a comfier chair. We can grab the one in the hallway.
               ANGEL STARR:    ...Are you serious?
Cuts to Ema and Angel bringing in a comfier looking chair.
EMA SKYE:    Ok, Heal says we should put her new chair a little further back.
               ANGEL STARR:    Ok fine.
They put the comfier chair slightly further behind the chair Franziska is currently sitting in. Franziska still looks confused. She stands up while they move the chair she's sitting on to the side.
ANGEL STARR:    Now do I need to give the murder suspect a foot message!?
Ema listens to her ear piece for a bit.
EMA SKYE:    That won't be necessary.
ANGEL STARR:    Fine! Does Heal need anything else!?
EMA SKYE:    Heal is getting some coffee in a bit. Do you want any?
Angel flips her hair to the nice side.
ANGEL STARR:    ... A Caramel Frappuccino would be nice.
Angel then leaves the room.
EMA SKYE:    Heal is offering to get you some too Franziska, what would you like?
Franziska is looking around confused, but also a little angry.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    What is going on!? She sent away the aggressive cop, she moved the table, got me a comfy chair, and now she's offering me coffee!? Why is she doing this!?!?!?
Ema takes off her earpiece and holds it towards Franziska.
EMA SKYE:    Heal would like to talk to you.
               FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    Ok!
Franziska puts on the earpiece.
HEAL YUR PAYNE:    Hello Ms. Von Karma, I'm Heal Yur Payne. I will be prosecuting you for this case. What is stressing you out right now?
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    I don't understand what you're doing!
HEAL YUR PAYNE:    I'm observing while they are interrogating you. My methods are very different than yours were Ms. Von Karma. You went around... whipping people and my methods are a little more cordial.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    I've been around prosecutors my whole life, and I never seen any of them do anything like this! Why!?
HEAL YUR PAYNE:    With all due respect, I'm not telling you the thought process behind my methods. You should understand, you are a former prosecutor yourself.
               FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    ... Ok.
HEAL YUR PAYNE:    Now please sit down and take deep breaths. It's best if we all relax. I'll help you.
Heal presses a button on a speaker. It starts playing relaxing music. Heal starts moving her hands like she's conducting the music.
HEAL YUR PAYNE:    Here's some nice ambient music. They play this music at my mother's onsen. Now let's be calm. If you're innocent, then your lawyer should be able to prove that.
Franziska sits down and seems to be calming down.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    ... Fine. I'll calm down.
HEAL YUR PAYNE:    Good. Now can you please hand the earpiece back to Detective Skye?
Franziska gives Ema back her earpiece. Ema puts it back in her ear.
HEAL YUR PAYNE:    Ok, Ms. Von Karma still seems a little tense. I think you should continue asking your questions until she gets completely comfortable. However, when I say so
Heal leans forward. Her glasses are now transparent and her eyes can be seen.
HEAL YUR PAYNE:    start asking her questions about Phoenix Wright.
WRIGHT ANYTHING AGENCY MAY 11TH 2030
Court Records Inventory: Attorney Badge, Franziska's Apology List, Collapsable Scooter, and Note from Franziska.
Note: The Flask was previously in the Court Records, but it's no longer in there because it was taken by police as evidence since it blocked the bullets.
PHOENIX WRIGHT is standing around the Wright Anything Agency. TRUCY WRIGHT, ATHENA CYKES, MAYA FEY and PEARL FEY are in the party. There's a talk icon above Trucy's profile.
TRUCY WRIGHT:    How are you doing Dad?
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    I'm ok. The doctor said the only injury I have is a bruised shoulder. I'm guessing that might've been from Rylee judo throwing me.
TRUCY WRIGHT:    Yeah, but what about emotionally. That was the closest you got to witnessing a murder.
               PHOENIX WRIGHT:    .........
KITCHEN FLASHBACK
The person in the shadows fires a gun. The lights turn on and Rylee is dead.
WRIGHT ANYTHING AGENCY MAY 11TH 2030
               PHOENIX WRIGHT:    I'm ok.
ATHENA CYKES:    I detect in your voice that
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    I'm fine! How is everyone else is doing?
MAYA FEY:    I'm ok. The police definitely had a lot of questions for all of us.
ATHENA CYKES:    Yeah, the whole thing was hectic. At least I was able to save the cake.
TRUCY WRIGHT:    I can't believe Franziska tried to kill you. She seemed nice.
               PHOENIX WRIGHT:    ... I think she's innocent.
               TRUCY WRIGHT:    Really?
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Yes. She said she didn't do it and no psyche locks appeared.
PEARL FEY:    Mr. Nick, you know those Psyche Locks aren't always accurate. They're especially bad at detecting if someone is hiding if they're a murderer. There's a good reason we don't just ask every witness if they're the killer when investigating a case.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    ...... Yeah, that's totally why I didn't just do that before.
PEARL FEY:    ... You never thought of doing that before did you?
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    ...... I did not. Anyway, I still think Franziska is innocent. We should go down to the detention center and see if she's willing to let me defend her.
TRUCY WRIGHT:    Well, if you believe she's innocent, then do it!
There's a talk icon above Maya's profile.
MAYA FEY:    Hey Nick, you got a bunch of flier in the mail. Looks like some of these events coming up look pretty neat.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Maya, I don't think that's important right now. We need to go visit Franziska.
MAYA FEY:    Yes, but these events are in a couple of weeks. Maybe Franziska would like to come with us to any of these fun places.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    (Hmmm. Maybe some of these events might make good date ideas.)    Ok, let's see the fliers.
Event Pamphlets added to Court Records. There are five pamphlets. The fliers advertised are Giselle Ballet (May 23), Tractor Races (May 23), Improv Show (May 21), Steel Samurai Play (May 25), and Immersive Art of Anime (May 23).
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Now let's clean out the back of my car real quick, and we'll be ready to go!
A new location opens up. It has a talk icon above it.
DETENTION CENTER MAY 11TH 2030
Franziska Von Karma is behind the glass partition.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    Phoenix? You're here? I'm surprised to see you out of the hospital.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    I'm ok. The flask Maya gave me caught both bullets.
MAYA FEY:    You're welcome by the way.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Thank you Maya. Are you ok Franziska?
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    They got done interrogating me. It was very distressing.
ATHENA CYKES:    Wow, they must have been rough.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    They were the opposite of rough. That's what made it distressing!
               ATHENA CYKES:    ..... Ok?
New dialogue option: "Offer to be your Attorney".
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    I'm surprised you came to visit me. Especially because it looked I shot you.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Yes, but you didn't shoot me. Right?
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    I promise you that I did not shoot you.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    In that case, Franziska Von Karma, would you let me be your lawyer?
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    Really!? You're one of the people I'm accused of shooting!
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Yes, but you're innocent so that's not a problem.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    ... This is so you. Of course I want you to defend me. I would be an idiot to refuse.
New dialogue option: "What happened that night"
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    So what actually happened that night? Why were you holding the gun when the lights turned on?
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    I was in my childhood bedroom, winding down for a bit. I didn't even notice that the power went out at first because my lights were already off. Then I heard the gunshots go off. I left my bedroom and rushed towards the sound of the shots.
PEARL FEY:    You rushed? Wasn't it dark.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    I spent so much time in that house that I could walk through it blindfolded without stepping on any cracks.
MAYA FEY:    You really went towards the gunshots though?
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    I don't let fear of physical harm control me.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Yeah, you should hear what she did in Khura'in. It was awesome!
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    When I arrived in the kitchen, I think I saw a figure, but it quickly moved. I then felt something being placed in one of my skirt pockets. I pulled it out and felt all over it to figure out what it was. It was the gun.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    So you were holding the gun because you were feeling it to inspect it?
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    Yes. I know that sounds like an absurd and convenient excuse.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    It does, but I believe you. I've been able to prove more absurd events in the past.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    True. I was there when you proved that the cape fell on the bust. Thank you for believing me and I'm sorry I was late for our meeting.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    It's ok. I'm guessing whatever you needed help with will have to come later.
Franziska looks confused.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    ???? What are you talking about? I didn't need help with anything.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    What? But your note mentioned that you needed help with something.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    My note!? I didn't write you a note!
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    You did! It's right here!
Phoenix shows Franziska the note.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    What!? It looks like my handwriting, but I didn't write that note!
               PHOENIX WRIGHT:    You didn't!?
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    Yes!... Did you write me a note?
               PHOENIX WRIGHT:    No.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    Oh..... Here's a note I received that night. It's from you, or at least I thought it was from you.
               PHOENIX WRIGHT:    What!?
Note from Phoenix is added to the Court Records
The screen shows the note written in Phoenix's handwriting. It reads, “Franziska, I’m sorry we fought earlier. I know you’re trying to make things right, I just didn’t want you to get hurt. Honestly, I had a great time tonight with you. There’s been something I’ve been meaning to tell you for years and I feel like tonight is the night I should finally tell you. If you can, meet me in the kitchen alone at 8:00. I hope you can make it. Phoenix.”
TRUCY WRIGHT:    Dad, it's a note from you to meet Franziska! It looks like your handwriting!
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    I didn't write that!
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    We both got notes from the other telling us to meet at the same time in the kitchen, but neither notes are written by us.
TRUCY WRIGHT:    I know who they're written by, the killer!
New dialogue option: "The Killer Lured Us"
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    I agree with Trucy, the killer wrote these notes. The notes were meant to lure us to the kitchen so they can kill us!
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    That means they were trying to kill you, not Rylee.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    Yes... Poor Rylee. She deserved another chance at life.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    I actually convinced her to accept your help before she was shot.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    ... Why did you tell me that? That makes this whole situation more sad.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    It does. I told you that because you need to know that I can help you with the wrongly convicted. You don't need to let them beat you up.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    ... I guess you're not giving up on that.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    I'm not. You'll just have to get use to it.
TRUCY WRIGHT:    Dad, I think we need to focus on the matter on hand. Someone was trying to kill her, and they were trying to kill you!
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    That's right. They lured you in to the kitchen too. Who would want to kill both us?
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    There is one person who comes to mind. Mimi Miney. We both sent to her to prison.
MAYA FEY:    It's not Mimi Miney.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    What? How do you know?
               MAYA FEY:    ...... Trust me.
Psyche locks appear above Maya.
               PHOENIX WRIGHT:
....... Maya, I can see the Psyche Locks.
MAYA FEY:    Doesn't that tell you that I do know it's not Mimi Miney, I'm just not going to tell you how I know.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    ....... Ok Maya. I guess it's not Mimi Miney.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    Phoenix, you should probably go visit Miles. See if he had the windows of my mansion checked. They're all sealed so if someone broke in though the window, then there would be signs of breaking and entering. The only other way into the mansion is through the front and back doors, and they are both monitored by doorbell cameras.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    That sounds like a good idea.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    If someone didn't break in, then the killer would have to be someone at the party... Phoenix, you told me that you knew everyone I invited except for Rylee.
               PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Yes I did.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    That means that if no one broke in, then the killer was one of your friends.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    ....... I did not realize that.
PEARL FEY:    Oh my god! One of our friends tried to kill Phoenix!
TRUCY WRIGHT:    If they tried to kill Dad, then they're not really our friend.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Ok, this case might be hard for us, but we'll do it. Franziska, we'll go talk to Miles. Don't worry, I'll prove you innocent.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    I believe you. I know what you're capable of.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    (Franziska believes in me. I guess she's gained a lot of respect for me.)
A new location opens up. It has a talk icon above it.
EDGEWORTH'S OFFICE MAY 11TH 2030
Edgeworth is in his office.
MILES EDGEWORTH:    Phoenix, I'm surprised to see you here. Are you ok?
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    I am. I'm here to get info on Franziska's case.
MILES EDGEWORTH:    Really? Are you defending her?
               PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Yes.
MILES EDGEWORTH:    ... That's both surprising and not surprising.
New dialogue option: "The Case"
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    So do you have some info on the case?
MILES EDGEWORTH:    I can only give you some sparse information. I can give you some general information on the case, but nothing about what the prosecutor is planning. If I indulge that information to you, then I'm in danger of getting a bar complaint.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    I understand. I'm use to only working with sparse information.
MILES EDGEWORTH:    This case is both stacked against Franziska and not stacked against her. One aspect of the case that is bad for Franziska is that she was the only one who knew the victim. Rylee Kahnvikt was a Canadian medical student before she was convicted. As far as I can tell, no one else there could possibly know her.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    That won't be a problem. We found evidence suggesting that Rylee wasn't the target. Franziska and I were.
               MILES EDGEWORTH:    Really? What evidence?
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Franziska and I both got notes from each other to meet in the kitchen at 8. It turns out that neither of us wrote those notes, meaning the killer wrote the notes to lure us to the kitchen to kill us.
MILES EDGEWORTH:    That is an interesting development.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    You said the case was also not stacked again Franziska, what do you mean by that?
MILES EDGEWORTH:    It's who we got as a prosecutor.
New dialogue "The Prosecutor"
MILES EDGEWORTH:    No one wanted to touch this case. Some prosecutors didn't want this case because they were scared of Franziska whipping them and others didn't want to get on my bad side, even though it would be bad for my reputations for me to retaliate against the prosecutor of this case. There was one prosecutor who was willing to take this case, and good news: she's a rookie.
               PHOENIX WRIGHT:    A rookie?
MILES EDGEWORTH:    Yes, this is only her fifth case.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    That doesn't mean she'll be a pushover. I defeated Manfred on my fourth case.
MILES EDGEWORTH:    True, but there's another reason I think she'll be easy for you to beat, and that's her name. Her name is Heal Yur Payne.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Heal Yur Payne? Like she's Gaspen Payne's daughter!?
MILES EDGEWORTH:    No, she's the daughter of Gaspen's brother Winston.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    I didn't know Gaspen had a brother.
Edgeworth looks confused.
MILES EDGEWORTH:    Really? You don't remember Winston? You went up against him in court a few times... He prosecuted you!... Twice!
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    ........... Oh yeah! The guy with the exploding hair!
MILES EDGEWORTH:    Yes! Apparently that's not the weirdest thing involving hair in that family.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    I remember him now. I defeated him in my first case and when I had amnesia! I'm really going up against his daughter?
MILES EDGEWORTH:    Yes. Her father is quite a hack.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    That's a bit rude to say.
MILES EDGEWORTH:    You beat him while you had amnesia.
               PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Still though.
MILES EDGEWORTH:    As for his daughter, she eagerly volunteered for this case. She seemed personally offended that Franziska was whipping people for some reason.
ATHENA CYKES:    Ummmm. Yeah. Her whipping people was messed up!
MILES EDGEWORTH:    To get back to what I'm saying, people tell me good things about her, but I'm skeptical. She doesn't really get along with the other prosecutors. She sometimes come into other prosecutor's trials and has the judge hold them in contempt of court.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    It sounds like she doesn't mind her own business.
MILES EDGEWORTH:    Definitely. I had to suspend her for that behavior. Her suspension ended just recently. There's more good news too.
New dialogue option: "More Good News"
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    There's more good news?
MILES EDGEWORTH:    Yes, the department of the internal affairs are stumped on a motive.
               PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Really?
MILES EDGEWORTH:    They have two possible motives going on the murder and they're both pretty flimsy. You'll poke holes in their theories almost immediately.
               PHOENIX WRIGHT:    That's good.
MILES EDGEWORTH:    Heal also has her own theory on the motive and it's... interesting. In many ways it's the best theory they have, but it's based on a premise that is completely absurd.
               PHOENIX WRIGHT:    What's the premise?
MILES EDGEWORTH:    I can't tell you. That would be a breach of ethics. I'll tell you it after the case is over. You'll laugh. You got this Phoenix!
ATHENA CYKES:    Edgeworth, I do detect a little fear in you.
Edgeworth looks away.
MILES EDGEWORTH:    ... You can't lose this case. Franziska will not survive in prison. She might be nicer in general, but she still ruffles feathers sometimes. She will be killed like her father.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Manfred was killed in prison!? I heard he died, I guess I just never asked how.
MILES EDGEWORTH:    Yup, he was in prison with people he prosecuted and was killed. He was tough enough to take down some of his attackers with him. Franziska, will not be that tough. She's not as tough as she use to act.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    I will prove her innocent.
MILES EDGEWORTH:    I believe you will. She and I haven't always gotten along, but I've known her for years. It would be sad to see her go.
TRUCY WRIGHT:    Dad, Franziska wanted us to ask Miles something.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Oh yeah, that's right.
New dialogue option: "Did Someone Break In"
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Did you have the windows checked at the mansion? Franziska told us they were all sealed.
MILES EDGEWORTH:    Yes I did. No one broke in.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    I was worried that was the case.
MILES EDGEWORTH:    I mean, isn't that a good thing? We have a very limited list of suspects. All our suspects can be found on the doorbell camera, and the guest list.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Yes, but most of the people at the party were our friends.
               MILES EDGEWORTH:    ... I didn't realize that.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Yes. There are people at the party who I wouldn't mind accusing like Nahyuta and the clown, but many of the other people there are people I have fond memories of. I don't know if I can point the finger of accusation towards people like Larry or Gumshoe or you.
ATHENA CYKES:    If it makes you feel better, Gumshoe was upstairs with Pearl and I at the time of the murder.
MILES EDGEWORTH:    And I was on the phone at the time of the murder.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    That's not exactly a solid alibi.
MILES EDGEWORTH:    ... I think the phone call was being recorded. I'll try to get a statement from the salesperson I was talking to and the recording of the call.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Don't worry, I know it's not you. I think I should go over to the mansion now to do some investigating.
MILES EDGEWORTH:    Good. One of my proteges is at the mansion right now. I don't think you've met her yet. Her name is Electra Kute.
               ATHENA CYKES:    I know Electra.
               MILES EDGEWORTH:    You do!? Great!
ATHENA CYKES:    She was really nice until she started working for you!
MILES EDGEWORTH:    Hey! She's an honest prosector and believes in finding the truth! I don't care if she's a little "rude" now!
ATHENA CYKES:    A little rude!? You call what she does now a little rude!? You sociopath!!!
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Hey! Hey! Let's just calm down and go to the mansion.
(I wonder what's wrong with Electra. It seems like a sore subject so I probably should press it.)
MILES EDGEWORTH:    Good luck on your investigation. Hopefully you get along with Electra. She can be quite... shocking. Ha! Ha!
               ATHENA CYKES:    Oh screw you.
Miles has his hand on his chest. He looks offended.

FRONT YARD MAY 11TH 2030
There's a talk icon above Maya's profile.
Maya looks uncomfortable.
MAYA FEY:    Oh man, riding in the back seat of your car was so uncomfortable. Trucy, Pearl and I were cramped.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    I'm guessing Edgeworth's Mini van doesn't seem so bad now.
MAYA FEY:    ...... I don't know if I'll go that far. That van was lame. Hold on a second, I have an idea.
Maya pulls out her phone and starts texting.
MAYA FEY:    I'm going to text Richard. He's got a pretty sweet car. He can come help us investigate and drive some of us.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    He might have a little nostalgia for our investigations. Good idea Maya.
There's a talk icon above Trucy's profile.
TRUCY WRIGHT:    It's nice to be back at this mansion. Franziska is pretty neat.
MAYA FEY:    You wouldn't think so if you knew her years ago.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Yes, but she put in so much effort to change. She is pretty neat now.
TRUCY WRIGHT:    I didn't mention this last night, but there's something oddly familiar about Franziska. Like I've seen her somewhere before.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Really? Maybe you've seen pictures of her at the courthouse or Edgeworth's office.
TRUCY WRIGHT:    No, I think I've seen her somewhere before in real life.
ATHENA CYKES:    She did mention that she went to one of your magic shows. You might have seen her at your show.
TRUCY WRIGHT:    I don't know. I feel like I saw her awhile ago.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Weird. Speaking of magic shows, you haven't mentioned much about what's going on with your show. Have your producer's found anywhere new?
TRUCY WRIGHT:    I believe they're zeroing in on a place.
Psyche Locks appear above Trucy.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    ... Trucy, I can see the psyche locks.
Trucy looks sad.
TRUCY WRIGHT:    Of course you do.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    However, I'm not going to break them. I believe you deserve to have privacy. I just want you to know that you can tell me anything.
TRUCY WRIGHT:    I'm not hiding anything bad. My secret won't make you mad, I'm just not ready to tell you yet... I'll tell you after the case. I promise.

There's a talk icon above Trucy's profile.
TRUCY WRIGHT:    There's certainly a lot of ground for us to cover.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Yes, we should all split up and look for clues.
               TRUCY WRIGHT:    Okay Scooby.
               PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Scooby!?
MAYA FEY:    If Nick is Scooby, then I'm Daphne since I'm the hot one!
Maya takes a selfie.
TRUCY WRIGHT:    I always thought Velma was the hot one.
ATHENA CYKES:    Maya, you're really skinny and you eat a lot. You're obviously Shaggy!
               MAYA FEY:    ... That's fair.
ATHENA CYKES:    I'm clearly Daphne. We have similar hair color.
TRUCY WRIGHT:    I'm Velma! We're both brunette brainiacs.
PEARL FEY:    Wait, does that mean I'm Fred?
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    By process of elimination, yes.
Pearl looks sad.
PEARL FEY:    Awwwwww! Nobody likes Fred!
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Hey, you get to be the leader. That's not bad.
PEARL FEY:    Ok... Alright gang, let's split up to look for clues.
Trucy Wright, Maya Fey, Pearl Fey and Athena Cykes leave the party.
There's an examine icon above The Archive Room.
ARCHIVE ROOM MAY 11TH 2030
There's a silver haired police woman looking through the shelves in the distance. She appears to be gathering papers and putting them in her backpack. The safe is ajar.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    (This room might be a good place to start. There seems to be a police officer already here.)
Click on the police woman. She turns around. She has red eyes and has long hair. She's smiling.
               SILVER HAIRED FRENCH WOMAN:    Bonjour!
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    (She's French! Wasn't expecting that.)
   Hello! What are you doing?
SILVER HAIRED FRENCH WOMAN:    I'll tell you what I'm not doing, having a conversation with you!
               PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Ummmm. Ok.
SILVER HAIRED FRENCH WOMAN:    Au Revoir!
The Silver Haired French Woman leaves the room!
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    (Ok? That was unnecessarily rude. What was her deal?)
Click on the safe.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    (The Safe! It's ajar! Franziska said it was uncrackable. Probably should take a quick picture.)
Picture of Safe added to the Court Records.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    (I wonder if anything is missing. I probably can't tell, but it won't hurt to check.)
The safe is completely open. There are some disks and files. There's also a stand that looks like it should be for a necklace, but a card is there instead. Click on the card. A closer look at the card shows it has a circle with a couple of wings attached.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    (That card, it's got some kind of wings on it. Must be some kind of calling card.)
Calling Card added to the Court Records.
There's an examine icon and a talk icon above Upstairs Hallway #1
UPSTAIRS HALLWAY #1 MAY 11TH 2030
The hallway looks mostly the same, but there's a tire mark on the floor.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    (Well, I'm back in these hallways. I should probably look around to see if anything is different.)
Electra Kute shows up. She is an adorable petit black woman with round eyes and coily hair that is dyed blonde. She wears a dark blue suit covered in white lightning pattern. She wears a bow tie with kittens on its pattern, a flared skirt and running shoes. Her entire cutesy aesthetic is slightly undercut by the fact that she is holding a stun gun.
               ELECTRA KUTE:    Hi Phoenix Wright!
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Um, hi. Do I know you?
ELECTRA KUTE:    No, but I heard all about you from Miles. I'm Electra Kute!
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Miles said you would be here. It's nice to meet you.
(Wait is she holding a stun gun!?)
New dialogue option "Electra Kute"
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Miles said you were his protege.
ELECTRA KUTE:    Yes! I am his youngest, best, and most loyal protege! I heard so much about you from Edgeworth!
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Hopefully it was all good! Ha! Ha!
(Should I ask about the stun gun or just ignore it?)
ELECTRA KUTE:    I'm hoping to one day face you in court. Here's a preview of what that would be like.
Electra shocks Phoenix with the stun gun.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    AAAIIIEEE! What the hell was that for!?
ELECTRA KUTE:    I just told you silly. It's a preview!
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    So you're going to shock me with a stun gun!?
               ELECTRA KUTE:    Yes!
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Wait, I heard of you! You're the prosecutor that's been using a stun gun on people!
               ELECTRA KUTE:    Yes that's me!
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Edgeworth is not going to like that you're shocking his friend!
ELECTRA KUTE:    He said you can handle it.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Of course he did.
ELECTRA KUTE:    Don't be fussy. I have it set to a low voltage so it's just a little tickle. Tee hee!
               PHOENIX WRIGHT:    I wasn't laughing!
New dialogue option "Why are you here?"
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    So why are you here anyway?
ELECTRA KUTE:    I have a secret assignment from Edgeworth.
               PHOENIX WRIGHT:    What is it?
ELECTRA KUTE:    If I told, it wouldn't be a secret silly.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    I guess that make sense. Edgeworth must trust you then.
ELECTRA KUTE:    He trusts me a lot. He knows that I believe with all my heart in finding the truth!
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Oh, so you follow his philosophy?
ELECTRA KUTE:    Most definitely! People think my taser is a weapon, but they're wrong. It's a tool for finding the truth!
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    (Objectively, it's still a weapon.)
ELECTRA KUTE:    Miles is such an inspiration to me! I read a passage from his book every night for inspiration!
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    ( Oh yeah, Edgeworth wrote a book. Electra must be really demented if she read a passage from THAT book every night.)
ELECTRA KUTE:    Say, what are you doing here?
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    I'm here to investigate. I'm defending Franziska.
Electra looks mad, but in an adorable way like a little girl.
ELECTRA KUTE:    That Franziska Von Karma makes me so mad! Miles tried to show her the true meaning of prosecuting and she refused to listen! She even used falsified evidence, embarrassing poor Miles! I want to give her a taste of my taser!
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Actually that's a stun gun.
ELECTRA KUTE:    What? I thought they were the same thing.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    No they're not. Stun guns are close range and emit an electric shock, while tasers are longer range and shoot electrical wires at people.
Electra stares blankly at Phoenix for a minute. She then shocks Phoenix.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    AAIIIEEE!!!    (I should probably stop talking to her. I'm a little sick of getting shocked.)
Examine the tire mark on the floor.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    (There's a tire mark right there. Damn it! I knew they wouldn't listen! I should probably keep this from Franziska for now, she's already going through a lot. Probably shouldn't confront the culprits until after the case is over, unless it becomes relevant. I better take a picture just in case.)
Picture of Tire Mark added to the Court Records.
There's an examine icon over Upstairs Hallway #2.
UPSTAIRS HALLWAY #2 MAY 11TH 2030
The hallway looks mostly the same.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    (This hall looks mostly unchanged, but I feel like there's something different.)
Examine the Von Karma vase.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    (That vase, something about it seems a bit different.)
A closer inspection shows it now says "Von Krama".
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    (Von Krama?. Did it say that before? I assumed it would spell Von Karma, but sometimes names are spelled weirdly. I'm going to go ahead and take this.)
Von Karma Vase added to Court Records.

THE KITCHEN MAY 11TH 2030
Phoenix enters the kitchen.
           FLASH:
KITCHEN FLASHBACK
Rylee and Phoenix are in the dark.
RYLEE KHANVIKT:    ... this is going to be embarrassing to admit, but I'm scared of the dark.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Don't worry, nothing is going to hurt you.
Then there are gunshots.
           FLASH:
THE KITCHEN MAY 11TH 2030
Trucy Wright, Athena Cykes, Maya Fey, and Pearl Fey are in the kitchen.
MAYA FEY:    Hey Nick! Nice to see you here.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Yeah, well this is the scene of the crime so of course I was going to investigate it eventually. Did any of you find anything?
               ATHENA CYKES:    Nope.
PEARL FEY:    I didn't find anything either.
MAYA FEY:    I checked the nightstand drawer and I couldn't find what Franziska was hiding.
TRUCY WRIGHT:    Maya! Franziska didn't want you to look in there!
MAYA FEY:    She's not here to object.
TRUCY WRIGHT:    That's besides the point!
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Did you find anything Trucy?
TRUCY WRIGHT:    I found the RSVP letters from the guests. It might be helpful.
               PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Thank you.
RSVP Letters added to Court records. Trucy Wright, Maya Fey, Athena Cykes and Pearl Fey are added to the party.
Ema Skye shows up.
               EMA SKYE:    Hello everyone!
               TRUCY WRIGHT:    Hey Ema!
New dialogue option: "Ema Skye"
TRUCY WRIGHT:    It's great running into you here Ema!
EMA SKYE:    It's good seeing all of you. Phoenix, are you ok?
               PHOENIX WRIGHT:    I'm not injured.
EMA SKYE:    I didn't just mean physically.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    ..... I don't know. I was talking to Rylee just before she died. She seemed nice... I don't know how this is going to affect me.
EMA SKYE:    I'm sorry about that. I'm guessing you're defending Franziska seeing as you're all here.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Yes, I'm defending Franziska. I know it's surprising.
EMA SKYE:    It's very interesting. I need to tell Heal about this.
Ema gets out her phone and starts texting.
MAYA FEY:    Are you texting the prosecutor!?
EMA SKYE:    Don't worry. Heal is cool. She's not the type who would have you kicked out of the crime scene.
               PHOENIX WRIGHT:    That's nice.
There's a beep from Ema's phone.
EMA SKYE:    She just responded. She said she's surprised but she's looking forward to facing you in court.
New dialogue option "Heal Yur Payne"
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    So, what can you tell me about this Heal Yur Payne.
EMA SKYE:    She is probably my favorite prosecutor. She is so nice!
               TRUCY WRIGHT:    Nicer than Klavier?
EMA SKYE:    Heal edges out in front of Klavier. She is the only prosecutor I have ever worked with that makes it feel like we're all part of a team. She is so amazing!
Ema seems to be powdering a whisk.
ATHENA CYKES:    That's great! What are you doing anyway?
EMA SKYE:    Heal sent me here to test for finger prints on every kitchen utensil on the kitchen island.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Really? That sounds like an arduous task.
EMA SKYE:    It is, but Heal told me why she wanted it done and even offered to buy me a nice dinner as a reward. I told her that I enjoyed doing this especially for her.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Why did she want it done?
EMA SKYE:    I'm not telling you specifically why she wants it done. I will tell you that it's to help prove Heal's theory on Franziska's motive.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Edgeworth did mention a theory. He said it was based on an absurd premise.
EMA SKYE:    Many of the other detectives and prosecutors find the theory laughable, but I believe in it. You specifically would find the theory very interesting Phoenix. Though you should hope she doesn't prove the premise. If she does, she practically wins the case.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    (I really want to know what this theory is. Should I worry about it?)
EMA SKYE:    Honestly, it's interesting that you're defending the whip wielding prosecutor.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    She doesn't whip people anymore.
EMA SKYE:    I know, but it's still terrible that she did it in the first place. Heal, who is usually very nice, is completely disgusted by the fact that Franziska whipped people. I've never seen her so irate.
MAYA FEY:    You said she treats her detectives with respect. I guess it offends her that Franziska was pretty much the opposite.
EMA SKYE:    Yes, but there are... other reasons she's personally offended by Franziska using a whip specifically that will be obvious once you see her. Her and her Dad in general have been pushing to end violence in the courtroom.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Violence in the courtroom? You mean when prosecutors use violence on witnesses and attorneys?
EMA SKYE:    Yes! Exactly that! Winston has been campaigning for Chief Prosecutor on that promise.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    He's campaigning for Chief Prosecutor!? Against Edgeworth!?
EMA SKYE:    Yup. He's leading in the polls right now.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Woah! Woah! Woah! Winston Payne is right now beating Edgeworth in the polls!?
               PEARL FEY:    Yes.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    (So that's why Edgeworth called him a hack earlier.)
   How is that possible?
PEARL FEY:    There are many factors. Winston is considered a relatable family man while Edgeworth is considered pretentious and not relatable. Edgeworth has no campaign promises, he just keeps leaning back on his accomplishments. There's also backlash on Edgeworth because he drags his feet on doing anything about the violence in the courtroom problem. Winston also has a catchy campaign slogan: For the Winston!
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    How do you know all this?
PEARL FEY:    I keep up with local politics.
               MAYA FEY:    Ha! Nerd!
PEARL FEY:    Well someone to be an adult and not live in la la land!
               MAYA FEY:    Wh-What!?
               PEARL FEY:    Nothing.
EMA SKYE:    What Pearl says is true. Winston also has the support of the detectives. He has a history of pushing to limit the power of prosecutors. He's the one who pushed the Edgeworth's Law, the law that took away prosecutor's ability to cut detective's salaries.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Well that was nice of him, and also a little petty to call the law that.
EMA SKYE:    I have been helping the Paynes with their campaign. It's times to end the violence. We tried talking to Edgeworth, but he doesn't care. He believes prosecutors could do whatever they want as long as they follow his pseudo-intellectual philosophy. I mean just take that Electra Kute bitch for example.
Electra Kute appears out of nowhere and shocks Ema's neck with her stun gun. Ema cries out in pain.
ELECTRA KUTE:    Ema, Ema, Ema. You know it's very rude to talk about people behind their back. I especially don't appreciate you insulting Miles' philosophy. Finding the truth is the true meaning of prosecuting. Are you on the side of lies Ema!?
EMA SKYE:    No! I'm not on the side of lies!
ELECTRA KUTE:    I was also not aware that you were helping out the Paynes. Miles helped you in the past and you betray him? Oh no, no, no, no. I can't tolerate disloyalty.
Electra shocks Ema again. Athena gets really angry.
ATHENA CYKES:    HEY! STOP THAT RIGHT NOW!
Electra is taken aback.
               ELECTRA KUTE:    Wh-what?
               ATHENA CYKES:    Stop shocking Ema!
ELECTRA KUTE:    She's my subordinate. Mind your business.
ATHENA CYKES:    She's also my friend and I'm not letting you hurt her!
ELECTRA KUTE:    What are you going to do!? I have my taser!
ATHENA CYKES:    And I have my fists! Let's see how many punches I can get in before you can set your taser to a high voltage.
Electra is scared.
               ELECTRA KUTE:    Uh-uh-uh.
ATHENA CYKES:    I'll turn your face into a Picasso painting!
ELECTRA KUTE:    EEEK! I don't want my face to be a painting!
               ATHENA CYKES:    GET OUT!
Electra exits the scene.
There is a talk icon above Athena's profile.
ATHENA CYKES:    Ema, are you ok?
EMA SKYE:    Yes. Thank you so much for defending me. I really can't do anything when she shocks me. It's like she said, I'm her subordinate. If I retaliated or defended myself there's always a risk I would lose my job.
ATHENA CYKES:    I understand. I'm glad to help. I know it's a cheesy slogan, but standing up to bullying works more often than you think.
EMA SKYE:    It does. Heal stands up for us all the time when we're getting abused. She's a super hero. Sometimes when a prosecutor is being violent in court, she'll come into the courtroom and force the judge to hold them in contempt of court.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Edgeworth mentioned that earlier. He said he had her suspended over it.
EMA SKYE:    He did. There's only so much she can do about the problem right now. We need to stop this on a policy level.
ATHENA CYKES:    Definitely... I'm sorry about Electra. I use to know her. We were studying law around the same time. She was ditzy and shy, but sweet. I don't know what possessed her to start using a stun gun on people.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Yeah, she used it on me a couple of times.
EMA SKYE:    Did you do anything?
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Ummm, well I got a little angry at her for doing it.
               EMA SKYE:    That's it?
               PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Ummmm. Yes.
EMA SKYE:    I shouldn't be surprised. From what I heard: you never really did anything about Franziska whipping you. I don't want to blame the victim or anything, but did you never think of just taking the whip away from her?
               PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Ummm, no?
EMA SKYE:    Why!?...... Did you enjoy it?
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    WHAT!? NO! NO!!! I just- Didn't do anything for reasons... It probably wouldn't have worked anyway!
EMA SKYE:    It would've. We did tons of research on her, and it's very commonly known that if you take away Franziska's whip: she becomes completely docile.
               PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Really?
EMA SKYE:    Yes, really. She falls apart. Honestly, she's probably the second worst prosecutor I have ever seen.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    She can't be that bad. I struggled to beat her when I faced her a couple of times.
EMA SKYE:    Oh.... I wouldn't tell people that. They'll laugh at you.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    But wasn't she undefeated for five years?
EMA SKYE:    Ha! There's so many asteriskes on that win streak. Honestly, that woman did so much harm for the profession. Her use of the whip pretty much inspired our current violence in the courtroom problem. Other prosecutors saw Franziska getting away whipping people unconscious and it told them they could get away with using pepper spray, a stun gun or a retractable baton.
ATHENA CYKES:    Those weren't made up examples were they?
EMA SKYE:    No they weren't. Heal and us detectives are determined to make sure Franziska doesn't get out of this trial unscathed even if you do prove her innocent. The image of the tough as nails whip wielding prosecutor will not survive this trial.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    That sounds ominous, but she isn't like that anymore so maybe that will be a good thing.
New dialogue option "Details on the crime"
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Can you give us any details on the crime.
EMA SKYE:    You probably know most of what happened. You and Rylee Kahnvikt were shot shortly after 8 pm during a power outage. Franziska Von Karma was spotted by many witnesses holding the gun.
ATHENA CYKES:    As a witness, I can vouch for that.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    What can you tell us about the gun?
EMA SKYE:    It's a detective pistol. 6 shooter revolver gun. We were able to track the serial number to the gun's owner. The gun belonged to Manfred Von Karma. Franziska inherited it along with the house.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    (That's not good for us.)
EMA SKYE:    Franziska was kind enough to tell us that the gun was kept in a drawer in the study.
TRUCY WRIGHT:    That means the killer must have known where the gun was kept.
MAYA FEY:    Maybe. It's possible the killer just stumbled upon the gun.
EMA SKYE:    The gun was fired 6 times that night. 4 bullets hit Rylee, 2 hit Phoenix.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Wait, so every shot hit their target?
EMA SKYE:    If you believe they were trying to kill both you and Rylee, yes.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    How is that possible? It was dark.
MAYA FEY:    Must have been some good luck for the killer.
EMA SKYE:    What's interesting about the gun is the finger prints. Do you want to test out the forensic kit on the gun?
               TRUCY WRIGHT:    Sure!
Go into the forensic kit mini game. Dust off the gun. There are fingerprints all over the gun. Select a fingerprint and scan it. It matches Franziska's fingerprints.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    It matches Franziska's fingerprints.
EMA SKYE:    They all do. The only fingerprints on the gun belong to Franziska and they're all over the gun.
TRUCY WRIGHT:    They're almost all over the gun. I noticed one spot they're not on the gun.
               EMA SKYE:    Really? Where?
               TRUCY WRIGHT:    The trigger. Look!
Trucy dusts the trigger. There's no residue.
EMA SKYE:    Oh yeah! We noticed that earlier. Finger prints aren't always good at sticking on metal.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    (I do think it is still worth noting.)
New dialogue option "The Other Cop"
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    I have to ask real quick, what's up with the other cop?
               EMA SKYE:    Other cop?
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Yes. I ran into the other cop in the archive room. She seemed cheerful, but then she was really rude. What's her deal?
EMA SKYE:    ...... I came here alone.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    What!? But then why was there another cop here!?
EMA SKYE:    Hmmmm. Maybe she was sent here by someone else in the department. It's probably not that big of deal.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Probably... Well do we have anywhere else to look.
TRUCY WRIGHT:    How about the basement?
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Wait, there's a basement? Franziska didn't show us a basement.
ATHENA CYKES:    It's probably not the best place to have a tour.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    It might be worth checking out.
PEARL FEY:    Looks like we have another mystery on our hands!
MAYA FEY:    No we don't. It's pretty much the same mystery.
Pearl looks sad.
PEARL FEY:    Come on. That's pretty much the only catchphrase Fred has... How about I be Scrappy instead?
MAYA FEY:    Pearl, no. You need to have more respect for yourself than that.
There's a new location opened up. It has an examine icon on it.
THE BASEMENT MAY 11TH 2030
The room is dark.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Wow, it's really dark down here.
TRUCY WRIGHT:    Don't worry Dad, I think I found the switch.
The lights turn on. There's a sculpture that is reaching out.
               TRUCY WRIGHT:    Jinkies!
               ATHENA CYKES:    Jeepers!
               MAYA FEY:    Zoinks!
               PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Ruh Roh!
PEARL FEY:    ....... I got nothing.
The room is filled with various forms of artwork. There's a shiny object on the ground near the back. There's also a breaker on the back wall. Examine any of the artwork.
TRUCY WRIGHT:    Look at all this artwork Dad.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    This is pretty nice art. I guess these might be more heirlooms that didn't fit upstairs.
ATHENA CYKES:    I don't think so. A lot of this looks contemporary.
TRUCY WRIGHT:    It looks like Franziska signed this work of art, and this one too. In fact, I think I see her signature on every work of art.
               PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Franziska made these!?
MAYA FEY:    I'm no expert, but these are really good. They could be in a museum. They're much better than a lot of the heirlooms upstairs. Why would she put all these in the basement.
ATHENA CYKES:    She's probably insecure about her work.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Well she shouldn't be. These are really good and I will let her know that.
Examine the shiny object.
               MAYA FEY:    Ooh Shiny!
TRUCY WRIGHT:    It's a set of keys.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Keys? Must belong to Franziska.
TRUCY WRIGHT:    I don't think so. They have the initials R and K on the tag.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    R and K?... Rylee Kahnvikt! She was looking for her keys after the beating!
TRUCY WRIGHT:    That's right!... Did she leave them down here? I don't know why she would even come down here in the first place.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    I don't know either. This is definitely relevant.
Rylee's Keys added to the Court Records.
Examine the Breaker.
MAYA FEY:    Look! It's one of those control things that turns lights on and off.
TRUCY WRIGHT:    It's a breaker. It's meant to control the power.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Wait, the power went out the night of the murder. It's possible that the power didn't go out and was instead shut off by the breaker.
               TRUCY WRIGHT:    I agree Dad.
ATHENA CYKES:    Wouldn't it be hard to commit a murder if they can't see?
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    It would be. I still think it's a good idea to take a photo of this breaker.
Photo of Breaker added to Court Records.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    I feel like some pieces are falling into place. If only we had an idea of who the murderer is.
TRUCY WRIGHT:    You can find out who it is in court, like you usually do.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Yes. I think we got all we need. I think it's time to go.
Move to The Kitchen. Move to Front Entrance. The Front Yard has a talk icon on it.
FRONT YARD MAY 11TH 2030
TRUCY WRIGHT:    Where do you think we should go next?
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    I have no idea.
The Silver Haired French Woman appears. She seems to have a full backpack. She is smiling.
SILVER HAIRED FRENCH WOMAN:    Bonjour! Bonjour!
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    (It's that rude cop from earlier.)
   Hello again.
SILVER HAIRED FRENCH WOMAN:    Earlier when we briefly spoke I was dismissive of you. I was not in the mood of conversation.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    It's ok. Not everyone can be in a good mood all the time. Thank you for apologizing.
SILVER HAIRED FRENCH WOMAN:    I wasn't apologizing!
               PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Oh.
TRUCY WRIGHT:    I'm guessing you're the cop Dad mentioned earlier.
SILVER HAIRED FRENCH WOMAN:    Yes. I was just explaining that I dismissed you before I fully processed that I was talking to you Phoenix... Tell me, are you here to defend Franziska?
               PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Yes I am.
SILVER HAIRED FRENCH WOMAN:    Really? She shot you!
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    She is innocent and I'm going to prove it in court.
SILVER HAIRED FRENCH WOMAN:    You are?...... Stop that!
               PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Stop what?
SILVER HAIRED FRENCH WOMAN:    Stop defending Franziska, or maybe you could continue to defend her and lose on purpose.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    ... Why would I do that?
SILVER HAIRED FRENCH WOMAN:    Because if you don't, your blood will spill.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Are- Are you threatening me!?
SILVER HAIRED FRENCH WOMAN:    No. I'm not threatening you.
The Silver Haired French Woman pulls out a gun and points it at Trucy's head.
SILVER HAIRED FRENCH WOMAN:    I'm threatening your daughter!
               PHOENIX WRIGHT:    TRUCY!!!
SILVER HAIRED FRENCH WOMAN:    Now my "your blood will spill" line isn't entirely accurate because she's not blood related to you, but I imagine you're quite attached.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    I love my daughter more than anything, don't you dare harm her!!!
SILVER HAIRED FRENCH WOMAN:    I'm going to take your precious daughter with me. If Franziska gets a "Not Guilty" verdict, then I will kill her. You see, I can do magic too! I can make Trucy's life disappear! Abra Kadabra AlakaBANG!!! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha!
The Silver Haired French Woman points her gun in the air while she laughs. Trucy takes the opportunity to launch out Mr. Hat, hitting the French Woman in the chin knocking her down. Trucy picks up the gun, throws it in her hat, does some magic, there's a poof and the gun is gone. Trucy has a smug smile.
               TRUCY WRIGHT:    Ta da!
The French woman is back up. She is mad now.
SILVER HAIRED FRENCH WOMAN:    You annoying hack of magician! How dare you! I was going to use that to keep you hostage!
MAYA FEY:    Yes, and you would have gotten away with it if it wasn't for us meddling kids.
The French Woman is confused.
SILVER HAIRED FRENCH WOMAN:    ...... Why did you just make that reference?
MAYA FEY:    Ummm. Well, we were all pretending to be Scooby Doo characters in the mansion.
SILVER HAIRED FRENCH WOMAN:    And how would I know that? You just dropped that reference bereft of context without considering that.
MAYA FEY:    Well, ummm, the joke wasn't really made for you.
SILVER HAIRED FRENCH WOMAN:    Is it really an appropriate time for reference humor? I was just pointing a gun at Trucy's head.
MAYA FEY:    I mean... What's comedy if not tragedy plus time?
SILVER HAIRED FRENCH WOMAN:    The reference doesn't even make complete sense. You haven't caught me. Honestly Maya, this is why your mother left you.
Maya looks like she's about to cry.
MAYA FEY:    All I did was make a bad joke. What the hell!?
SILVER HAIRED FRENCH WOMAN:    You know what. It is fine that I lost my gun.
The French Woman pulls out a switchblade knife.
SILVER HAIRED FRENCH WOMAN:    I prefer using knives anyway!
Richard Gumshoe shows up.
RICHARD GUMSHOE:    Well I prefer guns, which is why I carry one with me wherever I go!
Richard lifts the flap of his jacket showing that he has what looks like gun in the jacket pocket. The French Woman looks a bit scared.
RICHARD GUMSHOE:    Now I'm going to be tempted to use it unless you leave my friends alone!
SILVER HAIRED FRENCH WOMAN:    GRRRRR!!! Fine! I will leave! But you should know my threat still stands. Trucy will lose her life if Franziska goes free. The good news is that you wouldn't be missing her for that long. Au Revoir!
The French Woman leaves.
PEARL FEY:    Oh my god! That was scary!
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Trucy! Are you ok!?
TRUCY WRIGHT:    Yes Dad, I'm fine.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    That was amazing Trucy!
ATHENA CYKES:    Yeah! That was great!
RICHARD GUMSHOE:    Yup! If she really wanted a hostage, she should've picked Maya!
               MAYA FEY:    Hey!
Richard has a smug look on his face.
RICHARD GUMSHOE:    ... Am I wrong?
MAYA FEY:    ..... No... But it's still rude to say!
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Thank you Gumshoe. You came here just in time.
               RICHARD GUMSHOE:    No problem Pal.
MAYA FEY:    Gumshoe, I don't mean to be ungrateful, but why didn't you make a citizen arrest on that woman like you did with Franziska!?
RICHARD GUMSHOE:    That would've been dangerous. She had a knife!
MAYA FEY:    You have a gun!!! Why didn't you point it at her, had her get on the ground, and then arrest her!?
RICHARD GUMSHOE:    Because this is just a price scanner.
Richard pulls out the scanner from his jacket and fires it at Maya's forehead.
RICHARD GUMSHOE:    Yeah, this is from my store. I must've left it in my pocket. Good thing I did, really glad she fell for it.
TRUCY WRIGHT:    Looks like that woman dropped something.
Trucy picks it up. It's a cd with writing on it. It reads "Charlotte - Photo of Maya/Mia Fey".
MAYA FEY:    Charlotte dash Photo of Maya slash Mia Fey? I have to know what's on that CD. My name's on it!... And so is my sister's for some reason.
RICHARD GUMSHOE:    We have a cd and a dvd player at Gumshoe's Spy Store and Outdoors. How about you all come to my store.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Might as well. I'm curious of what's on that CD too.
GUMSHOE'S SPY STORE AND OUTDOORS MAY 11TH 2030
Gumshoe's Spy Store and outdoors is a medium sized store. It's got shelves of different equipment that could be use for spy stuff and for outdoor activities including metal detectors, night vision goggles, and hidden camera equipment.
RICHARD GUMSHOE:    Welcome to Gumshoe's Spy Store and Outdoors!
MAYA FEY:    It's a pretty neat store! I'm so happy for your success!
               RICHARD GUMSHOE:    Thanks!
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    I guess it's time to see what's on that CD.
CD FOOTAGE
The footage on the CD is from Franziska's Point of View (specifically from a hidden camera in her broach). She is walking up to the Silver Haired French Woman who is now in a white turtle neck.
SILVER HAIRED FRENCH WOMAN:    Bonjour! Bonjour!
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    What do you want Charlotte?
CHARLOTTE VON KARMA:    I was just in the neighborhood and decided to stop by and see my little sister! I heard you're finally facing off against the lawyer who took down Papa.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    Yes, and I will beat him! I will make him bow to me!
CHARLOTTE VON KARMA:    Sure you will. Now I heard that there was a little problem. Wright's spirit medium is being accused of murder and a photographer took a couple pictures of her after the murder. It seems you're having the photographer hide one of those photos.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    How do you know that!? The only people who knew that was the photographer and myself! Did she tell you!?
CHARLOTTE VON KARMA:    The photographer told me nothing. I'm a descendant of the Shinzou clan. It's my job and heritage to find information I'm not suppose to know about.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    Oh yes. That's right.
CHARLOTTE VON KARMA:    How the hell do you forget Franziska? You've been around mom and I your whole life! Ha! Ha! Ha! You're so stupid Franziska! So very very stupid!
Franziska tries to whip Charlotte, but she catches it.
CHARLOTTE VON KARMA:    How cute Franziska! You still need this whip for people to take you seriously!
Charlotte pulls out a switchblade knife with her other hand.
CHARLOTTE VON KARMA:    What did I tell you about you using it on me?
Franziska pulls back the whip.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    ... You're right. The photographer took two photos. One is of the spirit medium from the back. Very useful, but the one she shot from the front and-
CHARLOTTE VON KARMA:    It's of a woman that's obviously not Maya Fey.
               FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    ... Yes.
CHARLOTTE VON KARMA:    That's not good. It proves that Maya Fey is innocent.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    That's what's frustrating about this! It only proves her innocent out of context! In context it doesn't! Spirit mediums change appearance when they channel someone. Unfortunately, I can't prove that! I found writing, but no video evidence or photographic evidence! I thought of having another spirit medium come in and demonstrate, but the only one I can find is the Queen of Khura'in! Even if I could somehow convince a QUEEN to help me, she won't get here in time!
CHARLOTTE VON KARMA:    Looks like you're going to lose your first case, and at such a young age too.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    I will not! I had the photographer hide the photograph.
CHARLOTTE VON KARMA:    I don't know. She seems like a bit of a blabber mouth.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    She will not reveal the photo, I'll make sure of that.
CHARLOTTE VON KARMA:    Wasn't Phoenix also there? He might remember that she took two photos.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    He's a fool! He won't remember!
CHARLOTTE VON KARMA:    Don't underestimate him sister. He beat Papa twice. I was watching when it happened. He's good. I think his "foolishness" is just an act. He might be as ruthless as Papa underneath his facade.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    .... You're right! He's going to remember! I watched hi m in court and he is very impressive! He took down a Police Chief and won a case while having amnesia! He's a genius!
Charlotte smirks.
CHARLOTTE VON KARMA:    Genius? Hmmmm. Looks like you're going to lose. It will prove that you're a failure, you're not a real Von Karma, that you're a Cuckoo Bird.
               FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    Grrrr.
CHARLOTTE VON KARMA:    Or maybe it's not that big of a deal.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    I. Can't. Lose.
CHARLOTTE VON KARMA:    You can. Lucky for you, I'm here to save the day!
Charlotte pulls out a photo of Mia Fey being channeled by Maya.
CHARLOTTE VON KARMA:    Here is a photograph of the spirit medium channeling her sister while talking to Wright.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    That- that is what I need! Wait! I can't submit that as evidence, it's from a private meeting with the accused and her lawyer.
CHARLOTTE VON KARMA:    You don't have to submit it as evidence, just show it to the judge. Just be like "Hey Judge! Check this out! WOAH! Mind-blowing!"
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    That might work.
CHARLOTTE VON KARMA:    Of course it will work! It's my idea!
Franziska reaches for the photo, but Charlotte pulls it away.
CHARLOTTE VON KARMA:    Oh no, no, no, no. Papa told me I have to earn my part of the inheritance by charging you when you when I help you. He told me you needed all the help that you can get. If you want this photo, you'll have to pay me $10,000.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    ...... I'm not going to pay that.
CHARLOTTE VON KARMA:    Think of it as me charging Papa, since it's his money you're using.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    I'm going to beat Phoenix Wright without your help!
CHARLOTTE VON KARMA:    That's your call, but it's a very stupid one. If you don't take this photograph, then you might as well hand your whip to Phoenix, lean over his bench and say "Give it to me baby!"
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    Ok! Ok! I'll get you your money!
CHARLOTTE VON KARMA:    Good. Good. Now you might win, and nothing will change. You'll still be the same miserable person you are right now.
Charlotte starts looking sad.
CHARLOTTE VON KARMA:    I wish you would find a way to be truly happy.
The tape ends.
GUMSHOE'S SPY STORE AND OUTDOORS MAY 11TH 2030
MAYA FEY:    That was Charlotte!?..... Why is she French?
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Maya, that's not the most important question right now.
MAYA FEY:    But is it not a legitimate one?
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    ..... It is. I assumed she would be German.
ATHENA CYKES:    It's not that absurd. France and Germany are bordering countries.
RICHARD GUMSHOE:    Charlotte grew up in France. Her mother is French and got custody of her in the divorce.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Wait, you know her!?
RICHARD GUMSHOE:    Yup, she hung around Franziska during your rivalry with her. She was definitely a bit of a bitch, but us back in the force liked her. She was funny and she was the only one who would knock Franziska down a peg.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Why didn't you mention her earlier!?
RICHARD GUMSHOE:    Do you mean today or just in general?
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    I don't know! Both!?
RICHARD GUMSHOE:    I guess it just never came up before.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Ok, well we need to visit Franziska again and talk to her about this.
MAYA FEY:    Can we do that in a minute? I want to look around, this store is very neat.
               RICHARD GUMSHOE:    Thank you.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    I guess we can take a minute to relax.
Footage of Charlotte added to the Court Records.
New dialogue option: "The CD"
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    What we saw on that CD sure was interesting.
RICHARD GUMSHOE:    Yup. It made me understand why Franziska reacted so poorly to losing that trial. I'd beat the crap out of you too if you made me waste $10,000.
MAYA FEY:    I remember that photo. Franziska showed that photo of me channeling Mia in court. That jerk Charlotte was the one who took that photo.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Yes. It was interesting to see what it's like on the other side. Looked like she had to use that photo. I guess that makes sense. If there was legal evidence for her to use, then she probably would have used it.
TRUCY WRIGHT:    Did you hear what she called you Dad? She called you a genius!
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    ... Yes she did. Franziska thought I was a genius back then?
PEARL FEY:    That part threw me off too. In public she called Mr. Nick a "foolish fool", but in private she called him a genius.
ATHENA CYKES:    What's interesting is that I detected a lot of happiness in her voice when she said it.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Happiness!? She was happy!? It sounded like she was scared.
ATHENA CYKES:    Yes, she was very scared too. I'm guessing she was impressed by your genius.
MAYA FEY:    Wait, you can detect people's emotions through a video?
ATHENA CYKES:    Yes. I detect people's emotions through their voices. It does make watching films frustrating. A lot of actors are very sad.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    ... What other emotions did you detect from her?
ATHENA CYKES:    She was definitely angry, but I also detected a lot of sadness coming from her. She was almost consistently sad. Charlotte was interesting too. She was mostly happy and angry, but I detected sadness from her too. Mostly when she talked about Franziska prosecuting. It seems those two are complicated emotionally.
RICHARD GUMSHOE:    I remember those cases Franziska was describing, but that was before we met her!
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    She must've been attended those cases. Maybe wanted to watch me work before she faced me.
New dialogue option: "Your Store"
               PHOENIX WRIGHT:
It's really great that you were able to open your own store. What made you decide to open a spy store and outdoors.
RICHARD GUMSHOE:    You know me, I've always enjoyed my little gadgets like the metal detector. I thought I could specialize in that stuff. I decided to make it outdoors stuff too since the spy stuff was a bit niche.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    I'm glad everything is going great with you.
Gumshoe looks away.
RICHARD GUMSHOE:    Yup, everything is going great.
ATHENA CYKES:    Richard, I detect that you're a bit worried about something.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    I can tell something is bothering you too.
RICHARD GUMSHOE:    .... Well I do have a problem that's weighing on my mind. Guys I'm having trouble with
Maggey Gumshoe walks in.
MAGGEY GUMSHOE:    Hello! How is everyone doing!?
               PHOENIX WRIGHT:    I'm doing ok.
MAGGEY GUMSHOE:    Good! Richard tells me you're defending Franziska.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Yes, I believe she's been framed.
MAGGEY GUMSHOE:    I'm sorry about that... I'm glad it's not me for once.
MAYA FEY:    Tell me about it sister.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Now Richard, what were you telling us about your problem?
MAGGEY GUMSHOE:    Richard, you have a problem? What's wrong sweetie?
RICHARD GUMSHOE:    I don't have a problem! Everything is going fantastic! Nothing is stressing me out now!
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    (Hmmmm. It seems Richard doesn't want to mention the problem in front of Maggey.)
RICHARD GUMSHOE:    So guys, you can go ahead and look around the store if you want.
Examine the Night Vision Goggles on a counter.
MAYA FEY:    Ooh! That's some neat night vision goggles. I always wanted a pair. I always wanted to see in the dark.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Wait.... See in the dark?... Guys! The killer was able to hit Rylee and I with every shot in their gun even though it was dark! That type of accuracy means that they were able to see in the dark!
MAYA FEY:    See in the dark? Like they're a vampire or something?
               PHOENIX WRIGHT:    What? No!
TRUCY WRIGHT:    I understand what you're saying. You're saying that the killer was wearing night vision goggles!
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Exactly! The killer turned off the power with the breaker, put on night vision goggles, and tried to kill us under the cover of darkness.
ATHENA CYKES:    Wait, doesn't this contradict the theory that the killer was trying to kill Franziska?
TRUCY WRIGHT:    No. Rylee and Franziska were both wearing black tank tops and their hairstyles were very similar. Now Rylee has olive skin and light blue hair while Franziska has pale skin and silver hair, but under the filter of night vision goggles they would look identical especially from the back.
PEARL FEY:    Wasn't Franziska wearing a skirt and Rylee wearing jeans though?
TRUCY WRIGHT:    Yes, but I imagine someone might not notice that tiny detail. At a glance Franziska and Rylee would look the same.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Trucy, you are a genius! Gumshoe, can we have a pair of night vision goggles?
RICHARD GUMSHOE:    ...... You can buy a pair of night vision goggles.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Aw come on Gumshoe.
RICHARD GUMSHOE:    Look Pal, I'm trying to run a business. I can't just give product away.
MAYA FEY:    But we're your friends.
RICHARD GUMSHOE:    And as my friends you would want me to stay in business. When I opened up this store, half of the force tried to get discount on products. I decided immediately to make it a policy not give friends discounts or let them take products. If I didn't do that, I would probably not be in business.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Can't we just borrow it? I'm just going to use it in court.
RICHARD GUMSHOE:    If you borrow it, then I'll have to mark it down as "used". Can't you just show them a picture of night vision goggles or just tell them that the killer was wearing night vision goggles?
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    I guess I could. I would just rather have a physical pair of night vision.
RICHARD GUMSHOE:    Then you need to buy one.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    (I understand Gumshoe's point, unfortunately the night vision goggles are pretty expensive. I could afford it, but I would rather not get in the habit of spending a lot of money on something that I'll only use once..... Maybe if I help out Gumshoe with his problem then he'll be more likely to let us borrow a pair of night vision goggles.)
Charisma Challenge: Get Richard to Lend Us Night Vision Goggles
There are 4 sections in the Bar
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    (Now Richard didn't want to say something in front of Maggey. I need to get Maggey to go away.)
OPTIONS: Hey Maggey, go away. (Instant Fail)
Hey Maggey, can you get me something from the back? (wrong)
[whispers] Hey Maya, can you distract Maggey? (Correct)
Choose "[whispers] Hey Maya, can you distract Maggey?". A section of the Charisma Bar fills up.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Hey Maya, can you distract Maggey? Something is bothering Richard and it seems he doesn't want to talk about it in front of her.
MAYA FEY:    Can do! Hey Maggey, I heard you had something called an adjustable scooter.
               MAGGEY GUMSHOE:    I do!
MAYA FEY:    Can you show me! Let's go outside and I can try one!
               MAGGEY GUMSHOE:    Sounds good!
Maggey and Maya leave.
               PHOENIX WRIGHT:    So Richard,
OPTIONS: About the night vision goggles. (Wrong)
What was bothering you earlier? (Correct)
What's your workout routine? (Wrong)
Choose "What was bothering you earlier?". A section of the charisma bar fills up.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    What was bothering you earlier?
RICHARD GUMSHOE:    What do you mean?
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    You said you were having trouble with something and then you dropped it when Maggey came in... Are you having issues with Maggey?
RICHARD GUMSHOE:    No! No! Everything is going great! I love my wife!... I love her so much that I'm getting stressed out because I don't know what to do for our anniversary!
PEARL FEY:    Awe! You're worried about your wedding anniversary! That's so sweet!
RICHARD GUMSHOE:    I want to do something really nice for her, especially since I messed it up last year.
               PHOENIX WRIGHT:    What happened?
RICHARD GUMSHOE:    I took her to this really terrible magic show.
TRUCY WRIGHT:    ...... What magic show was it?
               RICHARD GUMSHOE:    It was called
Richard turns his head and stops talking. As if he realizes who he's talking to.
RICHARD GUMSHOE:    ........ I don't remember what it was called.
Trucy looks sad.
RICHARD GUMSHOE:    I just want to do something special for someone who is so special.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Do you have any ideas?
RICHARD GUMSHOE:    No. That's what's stressing me out!
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    (I wish I had any ideas... Wait! Those pamphlets from this morning! Maybe one of those pamphlets could be for an event that's perfect for Gumshoe's anniversary! I guess I could just give him all of the pamphlets, but I think he'll be more inclined to return the favor if I give him the exact solution to his problem. I should ask him some questions to narrow it down.)
Text: You can sometimes ask questions in the charisma challenge. Don't worry, there is no risk in asking these questions. Sometimes it's necessary and it will help you pick better responses. Sometimes responses aren't correct until certain questions are asked first. Sometimes all you need to do is ask questions.
QUESTIONS: What is the date of your anniversary?
Does it need to be fancy?
Does it need to be romantic?
Ask "What is the date of your anniversary?"
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    What is the date of your anniversary?
               RICHARD GUMSHOE:    May 23rd.
Ask "Does it need to be fancy?"
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Does it need to be fancy?
RICHARD GUMSHOE:    Not too fancy. We're not really into the high class stuff. We're not like Miley. However I don't want to take her something way too low brow either. Like I'm not going to take her to a cock-fight in a bar.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    So not too high brow and not too low brow? So like medium brow?
               RICHARD GUMSHOE:    Yeah! Medium Brow!
Ask "Does it need to be romantic?"
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Does it need to be romantic?
PEARL FEY:    Yeah! Make it super romantic!
RICHARD GUMSHOE:    No need. I tried to make a previous anniversary super romantic, and Maggey told me the only thing our anniversary needs to be romantic is me by her side.
               PEARL FEY:    Awe!
RICHARD GUMSHOE:    She also said she preferred to do something fun or neat!
Pulls up the pamphlets. Scroll through the five options. Pick The Immersive Art of Anime. Present it to Gumshoe.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Here! We got this in the mail this morning. It's an ad for The Immersive Art of Anime!
RICHARD GUMSHOE:    Holy crap! That's perfect! Maggey loves that anime stuff. Let me get the tickets!
Gumshoe pulls out his phone. A section of the Charisma Bar fills up.
RICHARD GUMSHOE:    I was able to get tickets! Thank you so much! You're a good friend! There must be some way I can repay you!
OPTIONS: How about a pair of night vision goggles? (Instant Fail)
You could get us lunch. (Instant Fail)
[Wink at Trucy] You don't have to repay us. (Correct)
Select [Wink at Trucy] You don't have to repay us.
               PHOENIX WRIGHT:    *Wink*
Trucy winks back.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    You don't have to repay us.
RICHARD GUMSHOE:    But I want to.
TRUCY WRIGHT:    Well maybe you could let us borrow a pair of night vision goggles then.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Trucy, you heard what he said. He's trying to run a business.
TRUCY WRIGHT:    But Dad, he said he wanted to repay us and the night vision goggles would be perfect. Right Mr. Gumshoe?
RICHARD GUMSHOE:    Your dad's right. I have to run my business. I'm sorry.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    (Damn it!... You know what, helping Gumshoe out was its own reward. I'm glad I was able to help him find something to do for his anniversary! I was being a bit manipulative anyway. I could just show the court a photo of night vision goggles or something like that.)
RICHARD GUMSHOE:    Oh my god! I'm an idiot!
               PHOENIX WRIGHT:    What's wrong!?
RICHARD GUMSHOE:    I can't believe I didn't think of this earlier! I guess I was just too preoccupied with thoughts on what to do for my anniversary. I have a personal pair of night vision goggles that you could borrow for the trial! Would that work?
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Yes! That would work! Thank you!
The final section of the charisma bar fills up.
Charisma Challenge Ends
Night Vision Goggles added to Court Records. Event Pamphlets are discarded.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Well, I think we figured out how the killer did it.
PEARL FEY:    I don't remember usually being that fast.
ATHENA CYKES:    It is faster than usual. Now we need some suspects.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Yeah... I can't think of anyone. Everyone there had a reason to hate Franziska, but very few had a reason to kill her.
TRUCY WRIGHT:    Yes, like I wouldn't think Klavier would kill over some broken guitars a few years ago or Laurice killing over getting whipped a long time ago.
ATHENA CYKES:    The funny thing is that the person who had the most reason to kill Franziska at the party, is dead.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    You're right. If Rylee wasn't the one killed, then I would consider her top suspect.
PEARL FEY:    What about Charlotte? She tried to take Trucy hostage to get us to drop the case. That's true killer behavior right there!
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    You're right, but Charlotte wasn't at the party... We probably should look into her anyway.
Maya and Maggey walk in.
MAYA FEY:    Wow, that scooter was fun!
MAGGEY GUMSHOE:    It would've been more fun if you didn't ding that car.
MAYA FEY:    Don't worry, I left a note.
MAGGEY GUMSHOE:    Yes you did... On the car... With your keys.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Ok! It sounds like we should go visit Franziska and leave the premises as soon as possible!
A present icon is above The Detention Center
DETENTION CENTER MAY 11TH 2030
Franziska is behind the partition. She looks worried
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    Phoenix! I'm so glad you're here! I need to warn you!
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Warn me about what?
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    Do not underestimate Heal Yur Payne! She may seem sweet, but she is devious!
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    What did she do!?
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    She did a test on me. She hooked me up to a heart rate monitor. She then showed me pictures of people I know. She told me to think about those people, and how they make me feel.
ATHENA CYKES:    ............. I don't what the problem is.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    The problem is that I don't know why she did that!!! It's freaking me out!!!
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Franziska! You don't need to worry! I'm going to take Heal seriously.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    .... I'm sorry. I've been around prosecutors my entire life and I haven't seen any of them employ the methods she's employing. I fear the unknown.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    You're probably not use to being arrested.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    I am, just not for murder.
               PHOENIX WRIGHT:    What!?
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    I said I am, just not for murder. I have been arrested for various other crimes.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    .... Ok. (I think I should show her the cd. We need to know more about Charlotte.)
Present "CD of Charlotte"
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Hey Franziska. We found this cd at the mansion.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    Oh, that CD is from our first trial together.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Yes. How about I play it for you real quick?
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    Sure. My memories of what's exactly on there is faulty.
           FADE TO BLACK:

FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    Now you know how I got that picture of Maya Fey channeling Mia Fey. I remember being so worried about Lotta Hart's photo. I believed that I would lose immediately if that photo got out. I felt like I had no choice.
MAYA FEY:    Did you think I was guilty?
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    Of course I did. It was a closed room case.
MAYA FEY:    Hmmm. That does raise a question: if I was actually guilty, then did Franziska do anything wrong?
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    I did a lot wrong in that case. In hindsight, I could've just trusted Phoenix to tell the judge how spirit mediums work.
MAYA FEY:    Yeah, but you had no way of knowing that.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    I don't think that matter right now. Franziska, I think it's time for you to tell us about Charlotte.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    Why do you want to know about Charlotte?
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Well, we ran into her at the mansion.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    You did!? I haven't seen her in years! What was she doing there?
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    I don't know, she was disguised as a cop.
               FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    A cop?
MAYA FEY:    Yes. She was very mean!
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    I'm sorry about that. Charlotte can very belligerent at times.
TRUCY WRIGHT:    I'll say. She pointed a gun at my head.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    She did what!?
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    She pointed a gun at Trucy's head. She told me she would kill Trucy unless I either dropped your case or lost the case on purpose.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    I'm so sorry about that Trucy. Charlotte has a very dark sense of humor.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    YOU THINK THAT WAS A JOKE!?
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    Knowing Charlotte, yes.
TRUCY WRIGHT:    That wasn't a joke! I can prove it! I have gun right here!
Trucy takes off her hat and does some magic. The gun falls out and lands on Trucy's hand.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Trucy! Be careful with that!
TRUCY WRIGHT:    Don't worry Dad, I'll be careful. You see Franziska, this is the gun that Charlotte use to.....
Trucy looks at the gun. She notices something.
TRUCY WRIGHT:    ..... It has an orange tip.
Trucy shakes the gun next to hear head to listen to it. She points it to the side and pulls the trigger. A stream of water comes out of it.
               TRUCY WRIGHT:    ....hmmm.
MAYA FEY:    It was a joke!?
ATHENA CYKES:    It doesn't matter if the gun is real or fake. The fact that we weren't made aware of that the gun is fake means that this still counts as a threat!
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    It's weird that Charlotte never told you that it was all a joke. She usually does that. Did you do something that would make her irate?
TRUCY WRIGHT:    I hit her in the chin with my puppet.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    Yes, that would suffice.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Ok, so it was all a joke! Here I thought we had a top suspect, but I guess not!
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    You suspected Charlotte? She has absolutely no reason to kill me. She loves me and would do anything to protect me.
PEARL FEY:    Are you sure about that? She seemed pretty mean to you in that video.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    ....... It's complicated. I know she loves me, but our relationship got messy as my behavior got worse.
MAYA FEY:    Your behavior!? She's clearly a big jerk!
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    She is, but she has a soft spot for me.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Do you mind finally telling us all about her? She might not be a suspect, but I would rather know about the new player in this game.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    Ok. I guess I could share with you biographical information about her. It involves knowing about my story too.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    That's fine. I realized that we don't really know much about your past. I'm interested in knowing more about you.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    Ok. I trust you. I guess you can be my therapist right now.
New dialogue option "Charlotte's Origin"
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    In order to know about Charlotte, I first need to tell you about her mother Hide.
Note: It's pronounced Hee-day. It's a Japanese name. Though the fact that her name is "hide" is used as a bit of a pun as she hides from karma.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    Hide was born and raised in France, but she was of Japanese descent. She was a descendant of the Shinzou clan.
MAYA FEY:    Oh yeah. Charlotte mentioned the whole "being a Shinzou" thing. What's does that mean?
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    They were a prolific clan of.... spies.
               PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Spies?
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    Yes... Spies. Hide ran an underhanded private investigation service on the side. It was one that worked with lawyers and prosecutors to win cases by any means necessary. They would find evidence, get rid of evidence... create evidence.
               PHOENIX WRIGHT:    So forge evidence.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    Yes forge evidence. My father was one of her clients. Their relationship didn't stay professional. They fell in love, got married, and eventually had a child: Charlotte.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Hide was Manfred's wife? I guess she's the woman in that picture in the archive room.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    Yes. They apparently had a happy marriage at first, but the happiness didn't last. They got divorced when Charlotte was about 4 years old.
Maya is rolling her eyes.
MAYA FEY:    What happened? Did Hide get a pimple and Manfred divorced her for not being perfect?
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    No, Hide divorced him.
               MAYA FEY:    Good for her.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    It's fitting that you mention his obsession with perfection. That was the catalyst for Hide leaving him. Hide was tired of living under a standard of perfection and didn't want her daughter to live to that standard either. Shortly after the divorce, I came along.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    So Hide isn't your mother.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    Not biologically. She was a maternal figure to me growing up. For the first few years of my life, she took care of me. Papa was busy all the time and Hide volunteered to be my caregiver. I'm guessing Papa agreed because he saw it as an opportunity to try to win Hide back. I do remember Hide staying overnight in Papa's room, so I don't think they were fully committed to the divorce. Hide loved me very much. I remember sitting in her lap and staying over at her house in France. Apparently I had a French accent when I was very young. My time spent with Hide and Charlotte were the only times I felt like an actual child.
New dialogue option "What was Charlotte like?"
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Tell us more about Charlotte as a person.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    Okay. Charlotte is very outgoing person. She is very charismatic and is the life of the party when she wants to be. She can makes friends easily, however she usually prefers to bully people. Especially people she doesn't like. Her words can harm someone more than my whip ever could.
MAYA FEY:    I could vouch for that.
PEARL FEY:    Why do you claim she loves you? She called you a failure, not a real Von Karma, and a cuckoo bird for some reason.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    She wasn't insulting me there. She was mocking the idea of me basing my self worth on victories in court. She thought that belief was idiotic.
               PHOENIX WRIGHT:    She's not wrong.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    She was definitely right to mock that belief.
PEARL FEY:    What's with the whole Cuckoo bird thing?
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    My father use to call me that all the time. It's a reference to how many kinds of Cuckoo Birds lay their eggs in other bird's nests. He called me that because I was an unplanned pregnancy with a woman he wasn't married to or even dating. It's practically a feminine form of bastard.
TRUCY WRIGHT:    Oh wow. Your father sounds like a wonderful kind man.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    ..... Are you being sarcastic?
               TRUCY WRIGHT:    Yes.
               FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    Ok good.
MAYA FEY:    Can’t you just tell by the context?
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    Sometimes. You can probably tell I'm not the best at reading people. The only one who really teased me growing up was Charlotte. She would always say "you're so stupid Franziska. So very very stupid." but she would usually inform me it was lighthearted teasing. Though that changed over time, but I'm certain that it was because I got worse over time more than because she did. Despite the teasing she was very loving towards me. She was very protective of me, she would try to lift my spirits when I was down, she would give me affection, and we would play games together. She even let me win the games often. That actually started annoying me when I got older. I thought she was being condescending, but I now realize she just wanted me to be happy.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    I'm a bit surprised that you claim she was a loving sister. I don't know, that's not the impression I got.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    I understand your skepticism. It all sounds so complicated. She would call me stupid one minute, say she was joking, and then kiss my forehead.
MAYA FEY:    I think I get it.
               FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    You do?
MAYA FEY:    Yes, my relationship with my sister was complicated at times too.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Really? You and Mia had a complicated relationship?
MAYA FEY:    A little. Our relationship wasn't always hugs and compliments. Sometimes Mia would make fun of me. She'll make fun of my hair, or how skinny I am. I would visit her in the city and she would stop me from walking over a grate yelling "Maya! Stop! You're going to fall in!"
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    (Didn't know Mia had a savage side.)
MAYA FEY:    I use to mock her sometimes too, but I had less material. I was sometimes jealous of how she looked sometimes too. She's the curve queen and I'm a skinny twig. I was hoping someday I looked like her. That never happened, but that's ok. I'm hot in my own way.
Maya takes another selfie.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    I'm glad you understand Maya Fey. Growing up, I actually felt really bad for Charlotte. She wanted to become a prosecutor, but Papa refused to train her.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Really? Your father practically forced you to become a prosecutor, but refused to train your sister?
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    It's asinine yes, but he had his reasons. He felt that Charlotte was too obnoxious to be a prosecutor. That she didn't have the personality to be one. Us Von Karmas were suppose to carry ourselves with an aristocratic air. We were meant to behave like dukes and duchesses, Charlotte behaved like a Jester. My father would often have her sit away from the rest of us. When I was younger, I often go sit with her.
TRUCY WRIGHT:    That was nice of you.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    Thank you. I honestly preferred Charlotte's company to the rest of my family's. The sad thing is that Papa was definitely wrong about Charlotte. I knew Charlotte would have been an amazing prosecutor, much better than me. I always knew I wasn't a genius like my father, but she definitely was. Like remember that Circus case we had together Phoenix?
               PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Yes I do.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    Charlotte immediately solved that case.
               PHOENIX WRIGHT:    She did?
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    Yes. She was with me during that investigation. When I went to investigate the crime scene, she looked it over for a minute and told me I arrested the wrong person. She immediately knew it was the acrobat!
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    How did she know?
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    She used her deduction skill. There were no footprints next to the body so that meant the killer wasn't next to the victim meaning the killer must have killed the Ringmaster with a ranged weapon. If the killer threw the blunt object towards the victim from far away, then the murder weapon should still be on the scene of the crime. However, the murder weapon wasn't at the scene of the crime so the murder weapon must have been tied to something in order to retrieve it. There was no imprint in the snow of any kind next to the body, so that means the murder weapon never hit the ground. The only way the murder weapon wouldn't hit the ground is if it was dropped from above. Charlotte then looked and saw the pulley system next to the Acrobat's window. She found out from Gumshoe that the Acrobat lived there and she solved the case.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    ...Wow, that is really good. I didn't even figure it out that fast.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    Yes, she was very impressive. My father was the same way. There were many times my father looked over a crime scene and then tell the detectives that they arrested the wrong person.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Wait, was Manfred actually concerned over convicting innocent people?
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    It was for practical reasons not ethical ones. It's easier to convict a guilty person than it is to convict an innocent one.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Ok, that makes sense. Wait, why did you still prosecute Max Galactica if Charlotte immediately realized it was Acro that murdered the ringmaster?
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    It's because I was a stubborn fool. When Charlotte told me I arrested the wrong person, she said she would tell me who the killer was for $1000. I refused. She then offered to tell me for free, and I refused again. Charlotte then wrote a letter and gave it to me. She told me to read it after I lost the case. After losing the case Charlotte had the smuggest expression as I read the letter. The letter detailed that the killer was Acro and how she knew that. I got a "you're so stupid Franziska" out of that.
MAYA FEY:    It sounds like you earned that one.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    I earn most of them to be completely honest.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    If you knew your sister was so smart, then why wouldn't you let her help you?
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    Because I had to be the one who beat you! My desired victory over you wouldn't mean the same if she helped me. It was also dispiriting to hear Charlotte tell me that I arrested the wrong person. It's because I was meant to be the one telling others that they arrested the wrong person, not the one being told that they arrested the wrong person. It enforced what I always know, Charlotte was Papa's true heir to the legacy, not me. She got disqualified from a game she would've won.
There's a talk icon above Trucy's Profile
TRUCY WRIGHT:    You seem pretty hard on yourself. You might smart in ways that your father and Charlotte are not.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    Charlotte told me that all the time. They had amazing deductive reasoning skills, but I've been told that I am more artistically minded. I think visually, have a very active imagination, and I seem to have a rare form of pareidolia.
MAYA FEY:    Pareidolia? Is that a disease?
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    No, it's a phenomena where you see objects and patterns on other objects that aren't really there. Like when you see a face on an object or see shapes in the clouds. From what I heard, everyone has it, but mine goes beyond. My neurodivergent mind will sometimes mix and match shapes or colors in objects I see. I told you about how I turned the cracks on the floors into canyons, but usually I would do more than that. Charlotte said it was neat how I saw the world. She told me that she only sees what's there and I see more. She would ask me what I see sometimes. My father wanted me to suppress the way my mind worked since it was detrimental to his goals. I often would zone out unless I was fidgeting on something, usually my whip.
MAYA FEY:    How about you give us some examples of your pareidolia or whatever?
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    Well, how about Phoenix's hair? When I look at your hair Phoenix, I see a field of tall black grass blowing back on a plateau. On one end of the plateau are many foxes. The foxes have their tails erect as they are alert, those are the spikes on the back. Maybe they're listening to the leader fox who is on the other end of the plateau. She is calm and has her tail hanging off the cliff.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    I'm guessing the little strand of hair that hangs on my forehead is the leader fox's tail.
               FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    It is.
               PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Why foxes?
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    I don't know. Foxes just came to my mind.
MAYA FEY:    Ok, now do me!
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    Your old hairstyle reminded me of the top of a cookie jar. I imagined someone would pull the jar on top of your head and there would be cookies inside your head.
MAYA FEY:    Oh wow that's cute!... And mildly disturbing.
PEARL FEY:    I'm guessing you saw my spirit medium hair as a pretzel. Everyone says I have the pretzel do.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    Actually no. Your hair reminded me of the crank at the back of a toy soldier. You would turn the back of your hair and you would start moving.
               PEARL FEY:    Neat!
MAYA FEY:    That sounds about right. Pearl does get pretty cranky.
Pearl looks annoyed.
PEARL FEY:    Makes sense because I'm always having to deal with someone with cookies for brains!
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    (I'm noticing some growing tension between Maya and Pearl. Should I get involved?... Nah.)
There's a talk icon above Pearl's profile.
PEARL FEY:    Franziska, you said Charlotte was your only friend growing up?
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    That's because she really was. I was discouraged or even at times forbidden from making friends outside the family. Papa wanted no distractions from my studies.
PEARL FEY:    I'm sorry about that, but what about Edgeworth?
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    Papa was strict with him, but not nearly as much as he was with me.
PEARL FEY:    No, I meant wasn't Edgeworth your friend?
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    .... No he wasn't... Still isn't.
               PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Really!? Why not?
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    You should ask him. We were not close growing up at all. He use to insult me all the time too and unlike Charlotte he wasn't kidding. The insults were bad, but what hurt the most was that he just didn't want anything to do with me. He would constantly ignore me, or tell me to go away. I would try to walk with him, but he would walk ahead of me, leave me behind. Charlotte never did that to me. She always gave me her attention even if she wasn't in a good mood. It hurt that I typically only saw Charlotte a couple times a month since I was closer to her emotionally than I was with Edgeworth. I wanted to be as close to Miles as I was with Charlotte, but he didn't want me.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    I'm sorry about that. Edgeworth is better now though.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    I mean... Maybe. I know you probably won't believe this, but Edgeworth tells me he would have nothing to do with me if I wasn't a prosecutor.
TRUCY WRIGHT:    No we believe you. Edgeworth mentioned his ultimatum at the party. Athena and I called him out on it.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    Thank you. When he does that, it just tells me that he doesn't really value me. That he's willing to throw me away over something that shouldn't even be his business. I don't know if he actually cares about me. He might not even think of me as his sister. He probably just thinks of me as a fellow student.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Franziska, I think he does care... Wait, "when he does that"? Is he doing that multiple times?
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    Yes. There have been many times over my career I tried to quit. He always finds out, gives me a speech about the importance of prosecuting, and then he usually tells me he will have absolutely nothing to do with me if I quit.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    (Oh god damn it Edgeworth!)
TRUCY WRIGHT:    Dad, I know he's your friend, but it's not ok that he's doing that.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    I agree, I'll talk to him to about it.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    Maybe he'll listen to you. I always deep down had the desire that we could be an actual family. My stubbornness made it where I could never let that dream go, so his threats were effective. I was finally able to quit prosecuting by lying to him. I told him I was taking a break. The truth I was quitting for good. He kept trying to get me to return to prosecuting for years. He would buy me new whips or tell me he got me new cases. Last year, while talking to Kay I mentioned that I was happy I quit Prosecuting. Edgeworth overheard and gave me another long lecture about the importance of the career. He then said he had a case lined up that I could take. If I don't take the case, he'll part ways with me. I told him that will never work on me again and walked away.
TRUCY WRIGHT:    It's good that you finally stood up to him.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    So Edgeworth must have been bluffing about parting ways with you.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    No he wasn't. We parted ways at that point.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    But he was at the party!
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    Yes. A few months ago I was going through some files in the Archive Room. I stumbled upon a case where I used falsified evidence. I had an epiphany. I was working on healing myself so much that I neglected to heal the damage I have done to others. There were so many people who were in jail because I cheated in court, many who were probably innocent. I had to confess so they could get retrials. I had Kay contact Edgeworth so he could set up a court date for my confession. He actually tried to talk me out of it. He told me I could do more good as a prosecutor, but I told him I was done and I'm going to do the right thing. He eventually agreed to set up my court date, though I can tell he wasn't happy about it. I don't think he's fond of my transformation.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    This makes no sense! He talked proudly on how much you changed!
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    Did he say things like "I was the sweetest little girl", "It was like I was kidnapped and returned home to him" and "He misses me calling him big brother"?
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Y-Yes. He said all those things.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    Kay told him to say those things. She wanted Edgeworth to talk me up.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Why would she do that!?
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    ..... I was worried you wouldn't come. I felt so bad for how I treated you and wanted to apologize.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    I probably would've come anyway, and I'm glad I came. It's nice to actually know you.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    I'm happy to hear that Edgeworth did that. Maybe there's a chance he might accept that I'm not a prosecutor anymore. He has stuck around for my apology parties. Though I wouldn't be surprised if he still thinks I'm going to continue prosecuting and he's trying to get my badge back.
               PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Yeah... Who knows.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    ..... Has he mentioned that he's been trying to get my badge back?
               PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Yes he has.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    Oh god damnit!
ATHENA CYKES:    What is his deal?
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    I don't know. Maybe he's not happy that the key to improving my life was not listening to him. Maybe he wants me to be his disciple. He is certain he has found the true meaning of prosecuting and yearns for the influence to spread it. His desires haven't been fulfilled yet. He has bad luck with proteges. Kay was a success, but she came prepackaged with his philosophy and desire for prosecuting. Other proteges either turned away from his philosophy or leaving prosecuting. For example, there's Sebastian Debeste. Edgeworth took him on as a protege, and he left prosecuting within a year. He is now a realtor. He sells Debeste houses. I'm not optimistic about his new protege Electra Kute. Then there's Edgeworth's book.
It shows an image of Edgeworth's book. It's titled "Finding the Truth: The True Meaning of Prosecuting" and shows a smug Edgeworth tapping his temple.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    Edgeworth pushes his philosophy aggressively in that book. The book garnered low sells and terrible reviews.
MAYA FEY:    Which is a shame because his book is so wonderful and engaging!
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    ...... You don't have to pretend to like his book in front of me.
MAYA FEY:    Oh thank you so much! That book was terrible! It's the most overwritten book I have ever read! I swear he had a thesaurus opened while writing that book so he could find the most pretentious words possible! Nothing breaks my immersion more than having to look up what a word means every sentence!
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    I agree. You are all probably aware of my way of talking, and even I thought his dialect was excessive. The book is preachier than any religious test I have read.
MAYA FEY:    His descriptions were also so boring! Like he's writing about taking down an ambassador and it's so boring that he might as well be writing about doing his taxes! After I was done reading that book, I was so mad that I had to destroy it! That story inspired rage within me that I didn't know existed! It took me 6 months to finish that book. How long did it take the rest of you to finish it?
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Um, well you know. I just can't remember.
               TRUCY WRIGHT:    Me neither.
MAYA FEY:    .... You didn't read the book did you?
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    ..... I stopped halfway through.
TRUCY WRIGHT:    I got to chapter 3.
               ATHENA CYKES:    Chapter 1.
PEARL FEY:    Couldn't get past the first page.
MAYA FEY:    That's just great! I only read the book all the way through because I thought everyone else was going to read it and I would look like a jerk if I don't read it!
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Well, I'm sorry about that Maya.
               MAYA FEY:    You should be!
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    I read it all the way through. I felt like I needed to understand his perspective.
MAYA FEY:    Good. I can share the pain with someone. Now I know this might be a cliched recommendation, but if you want to read a good book about prosecuting then read Days of Demorale. That might be my favorite book ever. It was so good that part of me wanted to be a prosecutor after it.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    You want to be a prosecutor?
MAYA FEY:    I said "Part of me". I'm not going to. Imagine if I did though. I'll be your rival and I will beat you since I know your weaknesses attorney!
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    I have heard good things about that book, but I don't want to read it. I don't want anything to do with prosecuting ever again. I wish Edgeworth would accept that.
TRUCY WRIGHT:    He's not going to have any choice but to accept it now.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    What do you mean by that?
TRUCY WRIGHT:    We like you Franziska! We're keeping you!
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Yes, you're one of us now!... If you want.
Franziska smiles and tears up a little.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    Of course I want.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Don't worry about Edgeworth. I know him, and I think I can get him to accept you for who you are.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    Thank you Phoenix.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    (I'm surprised Edgeworth isn't accepting of Franziska's change. Maybe it's all a misunderstanding. I'll try to get his side of the story.)
New dialogue option: "What is Going on in the Video"
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    So what is going on in that video?
MAYA FEY:    Charlotte seems surprisingly cool with you filming her.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    She didn't know I was filming her. I had a hidden camera in my broach.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Neat! I have a hidden camera in a button on my hat.
(Now that I think about it, I should really use that more often.)
What's with Charlotte charging that much money? She said she had to "earn her inheritance", what's up with that?
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    My father cut her out of his will after his arrest. She assisted in the framing of Edgeworth, but made a couple mistakes. He ended up blaming her and cut her off in retaliation. He told her to earn the money by charging me. Before then she usually helped me for free. It was especially cruel of him to cut her out of the will since she had a daughter so he was also cutting off his granddaughter.
MAYA FEY:    Daughter? Seriously, that woman is a mother?
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Your dad did mention having a granddaughter with a dog named Phoenix. I guess that's her daughter.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    Yes, Charlotte and I always found it amusing that Papa lost to a man with the same name as Rai's dog.
               MAYA FEY:    That poor child.
               FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    Well actually
MAYA FEY:    No, let me guess: "She was actually a loving mother".
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    I mean... Yes.
               MAYA FEY:    Of course.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    I know you don't believe me.
MAYA FEY:    I met her Franziska! Are you sure you're not being nostalgic!?
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    Charlotte wasn't nice to most people, but she nice to me, her daughter, her mother, and a few others. She really did love her daughter and wanted custody of her. Custody of Rai went to her father, since he was older, had better financial and familial support.
MAYA FEY:    Geez. I can't see any other reason the courts would consider her to be unfit to be a mother.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    Charlotte felt that if she got her piece of the inheritance, then she would be more likely to get custody of her daughter. Shortly after the Matt Engarde trial, I bequeathed her a sizable portion of the inheritance which I should have done at the beginning.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    So was Charlotte the one who made the falsified evidence for you?
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    Actually no, I made my own falsified evidence.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    You did? You can do that?
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    Yes. My mother was a gifted artist and I have inherited her drive for creation. My father however discouraged me from creating art as he felt they were distractions from my studies to become a prosecutor. Hide came up with a solution. She taught me how to make falsified evidence. That way I could create stuff with my father's approval and maybe it would end his desire for me to be a prosecuting prodigy. It didn't, and it backfired because I ended up seeing Hide less since my father didn't need her as often. I created falsified for him and a few of his friends... I probably am responsible for more innocent people going to prison.
TRUCY WRIGHT:    Franziska! Listen to me!
               FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    Ok.
TRUCY WRIGHT:    Actions your father made you do don't count! They're not your fault!
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    Are you sure about that?
TRUCY WRIGHT:    Yes! Don't feel bad for stuff your father made you do!
               FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    ... Ok. I won't.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Speaking of your art, we saw your pieces in the basement. They're really good.
               FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    Thank you.
MAYA FEY:    Why do you keep your art in the basement?
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    There's not really much room upstairs.
MAYA FEY:    But it's much better than a lot of the art you have upstairs.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    But those are family heirlooms. My art is just stuff I create when I feel like it. They don't deserve to be up there.
TRUCY WRIGHT:    We all disagree! Your stuff is better! Why don't you pursue your art?
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    .... I guess I just never thought of it. My mother was a successful artist, maybe I can be one too.
TRUCY WRIGHT:    I encourage you to!
               PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Me too!
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    ... You know what. I'll try it!
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Getting back on subject, what happened to Charlotte? Did you guys talk much?
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    ... We use to, but things change. While growing up, Charlotte expressed fear that I would start being like Papa. She was scared that someday she should hate me. When I started getting worse, she started getting more irritated with me. She did tell me that she didn't hate me, but seeing me become a miserable person made her really sad.
ATHENA CYKES:    Yeah. I detected a lot of sadness in her voice when she was interacting with you. I guess it's because she hated seeing you that way.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    Yes. Eventually she refused to help me in court. She told me that prosecuting has made me a miserable person and she was being an enabler by helping me. She said it was just sad seeing me this way, but she did let me know that I was free to call her for anything else. At that point, I was such a miserable person that I decided she was useless to me and I never contacted her after that. I tried to connect with her again a few years ago, but her contacts were outdated and I couldn't find any information on her.
Franziska starts tearing up.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    I took her for granted! She loved me and I threw her away!... I'm sorry Charlotte wasn't nice to you earlier, but I'm ecstatic you met her. Before you told me you met her, I wasn't even sure she was still alive. I really want to reconnect with her.
There's a talk icon above Maya's Profile
MAYA FEY:    Moving on to a lighter subject, let's talk about the little elephant in the room.
               FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    What elephant?
MAYA FEY:    You called Nick a genius.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Yeah, I was wondering about that too! In public I was a foolish fool, but in private I was genius.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    I didn't actually think you were incompetent, I'm not an idiot! You beat my father! Twice technically!
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Then why was I a foolish fool?
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    That's called trash talking. A Von Karma always takes their opponent seriously, but never acts like they do.
               PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Oh... Makes sense.
PEARL FEY:    Wait, does that mean you weren't actually that mean?
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    ..... I was that mean. I was hateful and bitter. What I was lying about at the time was my confidence. I wasn't nearly as confident as I presented myself.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    I can see that now. I remember those court cases you were describing, were you watching me?
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    ... Yes... After you beat my father I saw an opportunity. If I beat you then I would prove myself worthy of the Von Karma name and prove myself better than Edgeworth! I wasn't going to just rush in though. I wanted to scout you out first, so I put on disguises and watched a couple of your court cases.
ATHENA CYKES:    You were excited when you called Phoenix a genius.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    No I wasn't!
5 pink and light orange psyche locks appear above Franziska.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    (It's those psyche locks again. I forgot to ask Pearl what they meant.)
ATHENA CYKES:    You were excited. I detected happiness in your voice when you called him a genius. Why were you happy?
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    I don't remember! It was a long time ago!
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    I don't know about that. I have a feeling you do remember.
Franziska gets a smug look on her face.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    It's coming back to me now. I was happy because I was remembering the Lana Skye trial. It brought me great joy watching you humiliate Edgeworth in court.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Nice try Franziska. Edgeworth was helping me take down Gant by the end.
               FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    Damn it!
One of her psyche locks breaks.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    Okay... Maybe it was a little exciting watching you in court... Your methods were different than any other attorney I've seen. You seem like you're doing everything wrong, but by the end you win and create something beautiful. It was like the movies I enjoy watching.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    So you found my methods amusing?
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    Somewhat. It was also terrifying. How was I supposed to know what you were doing when it seems like you don't even know what you were doing!?
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    (Ummm Yeah! It just seems like I didn't know what I was doing!)
ATHENA CYKES:    I guess that explains it, but I'm still curious about why you're so terrified right now.
               FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    What?
ATHENA CYKES:    I detect a lot of fear in your voice when we're asking you questions about this. Why is that?
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    Do I have to explain every emotion!?
ATHENA CYKES:    Ummm, I guess not.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    Seriously! Do people ever tell you your powers are annoying!?
               ATHENA CYKES:    .... Sometimes.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Why are you getting upset? We're just asking some light hearted questions.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    Um, no real reason. I just don't like these questions.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    I mean, there has to be a reason.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    ...... Ok, there is, but I won't tell you it now. How about we resume this topic later?
               PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Later?
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    Yes..... In fact, I'll make a promise. After you prove me innocent I will tell you the story of our rivalry from my perspective. Does that sound good?
               PHOENIX WRIGHT:    It does.
There's a new dialogue option "What about Your Mother"
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    You told us about Charlotte's mother, what about your mother?
               FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    My mother?
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Yes! You told us she was an artist and that she never married you father, but you haven't really said anything else.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    She's not relevant to this whole discussion.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    She doesn't really have to be, I'm just curious.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    You don't want to hear about her.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    I do. I enjoy learning more about you.
TRUCY WRIGHT:    Come on Franziska, you said we're going to be your therapists.
MAYA FEY:    Give us the goods!
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    The goods?...They're not very good, but if you insist........ My mother was named Brigitte Liebe. You can look her up if you want.
               MAYA FEY:    Can do!
Maya pulls out a phone and looks her up.
MAYA FEY:    Oh wow! That's your mom!?
A picture of Brigitte Liebe comes on screen. She's a young woman with short black hair, glasses, and a grunge aesthetic.
MAYA FEY:    She looks cool! How does a cool chick like this get together with a square like Manfred?
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    They met in court. My mother was a murderer that my dad prosecuted.
Everyone else suddenly looks uneasy at what Franziska just said.
MAYA FEY:    ........... Are you joking?
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    I don't really tell jokes.
ATHENA CYKES:    Oh my god! You're the evidence baby!
Franziska tears up a little.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    Yes... I'm the evidence baby.
               PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Evidence baby?
ATHENA CYKES:    I remember reading in school there was a case where the prosecutor had a child with the defendant in order to win the case. I remember it was some famous corrupt prosecutor, I just didn't remember if it was Von Karma, Debeste or McLaren. I guess it was Von Karma.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    How does having a baby help win a case!? How does that happen!?
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    I'll tell you. My mother was an artistic prodigy that made a name for herself. Unfortunately her good fortune ended when she slayed her agent. She claimed it was self defense, and some of the evidence supported her claim, however there was enough evidence to suggest it was a first degree murder. My mother had a distrust of authority figures and that included lawyers. She didn't trust any lawyer to defend her with conviction, so she defended herself.
ATHENA CYKES:    That is very reckless.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    It is, but surprisingly she did really good. She apparently had Papa on the ropes and even got the judge to ignore his snap. During the trial, my mother kept acting seductive towards my father. As an older recent divorcee, he was susceptible to her seduction. After struggling to convict her, Papa decided to meet with my mother in private. He was trying to get her to change her plea to guilty in order to get a lighter sentence. She had a different idea. She offered to go all the way with him in exchange for him dropping the case. He accepted the offer. Unbeknownst to my mother, Papa recorded the bribe. He played the tape in court and argued that an innocent woman would have never made that bribe. It was enough to seal the conviction.
TRUCY WRIGHT:    ...... That wasn't your fault Franziska.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    I know... It just kind of... sucks. You might not believe it, but I've only been sad about this for the last few years.
ATHENA CYKES:    How the hell can you be sad about THAT for the only last few years!?
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    As a little girl I didn't know about it. In a rare act of kindness, my father told me my mother was a paralegal who died in a car accident. I didn't find out until I was a teenager when I met the judge who judged the case. He gave me condolences and after I acted confused, he told me what happened. When I found out, I confronted my father about it. I was initially mad at him, but his skill with words is without compare. By the end of our talk, I was mad at her instead, as well as myself. For years I thought of her as weak and stupid. I told myself I wasn't going to be like her. Despite her tough exterior, at her execution she was begging and crying. I now understand she was probably just scared. I guess I probably shouldn't feel too bad, she was probably a murderer.
PEARL FEY:    Maybe, but she's still your mom.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    Biologically yes. I don't really remember her and I always considered Hide to be my mother. It's not like Edgeworth who lost a loving parent. Hide told me my mother loved me deeply, I should've known that was a lie.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    What did Hide say when you found out?
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    She was already gone. She had to to disappear for reasons I can't tell you.
               PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Why not?
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    It's not my secret to share. She offered to take me with her, but at that point I was a stupid teenager who was determined to follow my father's dream so I refused. I haven't seen her since.
Franziska starts crying.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    Every single damn part of my life is tied to prosecuting! My own existence is tied to that job!... I've always been hurting people Phoenix! Even before I was born! I took Charlotte for granted! Papa never cared about me! Edgeworth cares about me so little that he's willing to abandon me! I make everyone hate me!!!
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    What about Adrian and Kay? They're your friends.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    They just took pity on me! Their lives would be fine without me.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Franziska, I want to tell you that I'm so glad I got to know you. I think my life is better now that I'm getting to know you.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    I've hurt you Phoenix.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Maybe you have in the past, but that's not you anymore. You definitely have the power to make people's lives better.
MAYA FEY:    You saved my life Franziska, and Adrian's too.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    .... Thank you.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    ..... I want to apologize.
               FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    Apologize?
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    You didn't want to talk about your mom and I pretty much pressed you into doing it. Now you're crying and I'm sorry.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    It's ok... I like crying. I was a cryer when I was a little girl and my father did everything to get me to suppress those tears. I felt like crying made me weak, now I realize that it's to cry. It's healthy for you.
PEARL FEY:    It is weird seeing you cry.
MAYA FEY:    Yeah, you cried because I opened a drawer.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    I understand that was awkward. My father use to come into my room and dispose of anything he thought was detrimental to my studies, so I guess having someone invade my privacy like that against my will was triggering.
Maya slowly stops smiling.
MAYA FEY:    .... Franziska. I know I already apologized, but I would like to... double apologize.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    I double forgive you. Is there anything else you need to talk to me about?
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    I can't think of anything.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    ... I guess you will all be going now.
MAYA FEY:    Yes. We need to get something to eat anyway. I'm starving.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    (Franziska is so sad right now, and it's kind of my fault. I can't leave her like this.)
Trucy, you can borrow my credit card. You can take Maya, Pearl and Athena out to eat. I'll stay right here for now.
               MAYA FEY:    You're staying?
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Yes, if Franziska is ok with that. Franziska, how about I stay here and we can just talk. Not about the case, or prosecuting, or your past, just about anything else. I'll stay until you are happy again. Would you like that?
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    .... I would, but you don't have to.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    I want to. I always leave my clients with a smile on their face.
MAYA FEY:    Always? This is the first time I've seen you do anything like this.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Well ummm. First time for everything.
MAYA FEY:    I mean this is nice, but are you sure you want to
PEARL FEY:    Stop asking questions Maya! Phoenix is staying with Franziska!
               MAYA FEY:    What?
TRUCY WRIGHT:    Come on Maya. Let's go out to eat.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    Just enjoy yourself. Don't worry about me.
MAYA FEY:    ... Ok. Whatever you say. Let's go grab some burgers!
ATHENA CYKES:    Eh, no thank you. I don't like burgers.
MAYA FEY:    ........ You just made a powerful enemy.
               ATHENA CYKES:    What!?
They all leave.
FRANZISKA VON KARMA:    ... Thank you for doing this.
PHOENIX WRIGHT:    It's my pleasure. I wanted to leave the party on a good note, but instead I'll leave today on a good note.
(There's so much going on right now. Someone tried to kill Franziska and I. Franziska's sister is in town and she seems like a piece of work. The new prosecutor has a theory that I don't know if I should worry about. Worst of all, the killer might be one of my friends. All that doesn't concern me right now. Right now my only concern is making my unexpected crush smile once again.)
To be Continued...

Thoughts on AA4 Phoenix
While I am new to the Ace Attorney fandom, I have seen several posts already that cast Phoenix in a bit of a bad light during Apollo Justice. I get why, but just wanted to put my own opinions out there to see why he did what he did.
Phoenix was not always such a conman of sorts, pushing things into place wasn’t his way of things. He sought only the truth, finding the clues that the culprits left behind and getting any others from his clients and witnesses. Even in Justice for All, when Maya was being held hostage, he knew he couldn’t just ignore the truth. He couldn’t let the culprit get away. But he is human, and so with Maya’s life on the line, he hesitated. Let’s now think about the cases Phoenix had been in during Ace Attorney Phoenix Wright. A quick run down. First case was simple enough with a quick thought out lie Frank had made up. Phoenix proved that Frank had heard the clock even though he claimed he never touched it. But the court did not accept it as there was thought to be no proof that it was “slow” on the day of the murder. He had to point out that Cindy had traveled abroad with it. Next case is a big one I think that led up to it all. Mia Fey, Phoenix’s boss and mentor, is killed and her little sister Maya was framed for the murder and then Phoenix himself. Phoenix found all possible evidence that he could, but in the end he found out the hard way that the court could not always be fair. Redd White was a powerful blackmailer, having his hands on the prosecutors, defense attorneys, police, even the police and politicians. The only way he won this trial was because Mia had given him a list of names, people who had offed themselves due to White’s blackmail, and Mia threatening to reveal the list to the press. Let me point that out, while Phoenix read off the names, it was Mia who told White the list would be put to the press. It was a high stress situation, as White was about to get off so Phoenix didn’t have much time to process that Mia had basically cornered White into making him admit his guilt as the court would have let him be free otherwise. The next case dealt with a tv studio, with movie stars, directors, and everything in between. Will Powers was made to be the culprit, killing Jack Hammer, as it was thought that no one else could have worn the Steel Samurai costume. But as it turns out, Jack Hammer had stolen the costume and was going to kill Dee Vasqueze, the director of the studios. She had pushed him off the railing in self defense, it was an accidental murder. But with the punishment that the legal system gave murderers, as well as the bad PR it would bring, Dee along with Sal had covered the whole thing up to pin it on Will Powers. The fourth case had Edgeworth pinned as the murderer at the very start. Phoenix’s childhood friend turned into a prodigy of a prosecutor. Due to the risk of their reputation, no other defense attorney would take his case. From his own high standard of title to going against Von Karma, a prosecutor who had won every case in forty years. There had been evidence in cases no doubt that his evidence was forged but with no way to overturn any of it and prove that it was, he only had one mark against him. That being given by defense attorney Gregory Edgeworth’s complaint. Von Karma later killed Gregory, and decided for whatever reason to adopt Miles, his son. Again, it was very close to letting Von Karma off the hook. It took the extremely ludicrous idea of using a metal detector on Von Karma’s arm to show he still had the bullet in his arm from where Miles had accidentally shot him. And then the last added case, the one that included the chief of police Damon Gant and chief prosecutor Lana Skye. That case basically included everyone, from detectives, policemen, and even Edgeworth was put under scrutiny again for showing “false/faulty” evidence even though he gets it from the police force. Phoenix is up against probably the hardest opponents here, from his own client willing to admit to a guilty verdict, to old detectives and police members that hate prosecutors, to the chief of police himself Damon Gant. Not to mention he is working on two cases, the one in the present, to the one that was done years ago. In all of these cases, it clearly points out how corrupt the legal system can get. From plain incompetence to not using reasoning and just wanting hard evidence, to people in the position of power that try to cover things up. Even though he had passed the bar, Phoenix has seen so many cases first hand where the guilty almost went free while the innocent were convicted. Whether they were set up, or manipulated into doing so. And all of that is just in the first game. In the following games, there’s corrupt doctors, betrayal from family, and even his lover. There was someone who even impersonated him showing that with well placed tricks, even he could be put under suspect. Now get to AA4, someone had used young Trucy to deliver forged evidence to Phoenix. Even though there probably would have been witnesses, no one believe him that he had no idea it was forged, and so was disbarred from being a defense attorney. He’s had all of these years of so much pressure and pain building up that I can see, even with having Trucy to take care of, he snapped. He lost faith in the justice system that was in place now. This is when he decides he’ll fight back.
Seven years, he builds up the case, digging up evidence and pushing people into place as carefully as he could. From befriending Kristoph who had set him up in the first place, to getting Apollo to get him arrested even though Trucy had again, delivered forged evidence. He submits the idea of a Jurist system, and picks the case specifically so that everything and everyone can come together. With the evidence alone, it could not prove Kristoph’s guilt, but this time it wasn’t just up to the judge and evidence. It was the people who got to decide based on reasoning. Something Phoenix no doubt thought should have happened all along.
Phoenix knows that the current court system is easily corruptible and has many flaws and contradictions, that is why he felt he had no other choice but to do as he did. Otherwise the truth would be lost.

I think part of why I dislike the final twist in DGS2 is how the whole plan relies on an even higher authority to take down a high authority. It could’ve all fallen apart if the queen was just as corrupt as Stronghart
Yep, absolutely! It feels a bit like a lazy cop-out, doesn't it? And even with Ryunosuke being thanked for all his hard work and (hopefully) getting a medal for it or something, it still doesn't feel like he accomplished much himself. Though I can ramble on about this a bit, if you're interested in a deeper analysis.
(SPOILERS for Ace Attorney 6 Spirit of Justice because I couldn't avoid looking to that game's final boss)
If the Queen had been just as corrupt, the only possible path left would be to start an entire revolution where the people of England overthrow the monarchy and all other high authority, which is entirely too heavy-handed for a game about attorneys. Or uh... I would say that, but then I remembered that Spirit of Justice happened. That was an entire game about toppling an unjust monarchy, with the plot building up to it from the beginning. But Khura'in is fictional whereas the British Empire and Queen Victoria are not, so... You know. Interesting as it would've been to see Ryunosuke start an entire civil revolution to take down a corrupt queen and her corrupt Lord Chief Justice, it wasn't gonna happen. And rebelling against Stronghart specifically in the courtroom wouldn't have worked, because no one there had the authority to strip him of his title. He's Lord Chief Justice. This isn't like the high authority villains in present day AA games, like Damon Gant for example. Gant can still be stripped of his powers by a judge once corruption and criminal history is proven, because a judge does have that sort of power. Unfortunately, Stronghart isn't just a judge himself, he's above all the other judges. The Gant tactic wouldn't have worked on him. We do also have the final boss in AA6, who is a relatively good parallel to look at. That queen is ultimately not taken down because her crimes are exposed to the land, she's taken down because it's revealed she doesn't meet the requirements of Khura'in's ruling monarch. She should never have been queen to begin with and her position of authority was false. She sat on a throne of lies. We can't quite apply this to Stronghart.
He would've had to be struck down or shot to end his reign of terror, but Ace Attorney's narrative doesn't support vigilante justice. Matt Engarde specifically gets sent to jail to avoid a fate of vigilante justice. There's a whole lot of vigilante justice in GAA that they could've condemned a bit harsher, like the thing with McGilded or Genshin taking matters into his own hands, but I think the bottom line is that these events were 'wrong'. They shouldn't have happened that way and people like McGilded should've been subject to the actual justice system. So to have Stronghart run through with a sword in the courtroom would've defeated that narrative.
Another route would've been not to turn to Queen Victoria herself but someone in-between her and Lord Chief Justice. This famed Attorney General title we've heard so much about. A twist along the lines of 'Mycroft Holmes is the Attorney General and he's the one who strips Stronghart of his authority, and we know he can be trusted because he's associated with the Holmes name'. But even then it's still a matter of relying on a higher authority to take down a high authority. All this would've done was to make the Sherlock Holmes fans happier because they acknowledged Mycroft's existence in the GAA universe, and in a way, that makes it feel even more like it was Holmes's victory as opposed to Ryunosuke's. Ryu would've had to be the one to reach out to Mycroft then, and how could he have known they might need someone there who outranks Stronghart? He didn't have that sort of foresight.
I guess what it boils down to is that the second they made the main villain of the story a Lord Chief Justice, they wrote themselves into corner where the higher authority tactic was the inevitable outcome. Which is tragic, but I can't really see any other way around it.

Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hello, Hello! Before you request, please read the rules below! And if I've noticed that you didn't specifically read the rules, I will either ask you about it or delete it so please read it carefully.
Tumblr media
Rules when requesting:
— If you request, don't request again. It is very frustrating for me to just make a request from the same anon/user, leaving the others to not get the chances to request.
— If the Request Box is closed, then it is closed. Once you request something and the request box is closed, it is an instant delete. I'm sorry but please check the navigation post or the description, it's always updated so don't worry.
— Similarly to the first rule, if I somehow received two-three requests that has the same plot along with the characters, and that you've sent that same request throughout the blog, I'm truly sorry but you're getting a block, it is very annoying and it made me get burnt out because of this.
— Please be specific on what you request! Which characters do you want, what kind of plot, which gender, what kind of writing styles since I mostly do HCs if not specified but I do write Alphabetical Prompts, One shots, etc.
— If you were to send many characters in the ask, it's actually fine by me but the only exception is that the more characters such as the number like 4-5 and up, the headcanons will get shorter than my usual posts so if you want longer ones then it's better to minimize ^^
— When requesting for the prompts, Alphabetical etc. Please be specific if you either want the whole alphabets or something similar like that! [Ex. May I request a (chr name) with a yandere alphabet A, B, Cs?] [Another ex. Maybe a (chr name) with the whole yandere alphabets?] It'll be appreciated if it's specified!
— If the request of the gender isn't specified, it'll be Gender-Neutral. But if about the Male! Reader, I'm not sure if I can be able to do it so it will be probably be Gender-Neutral.
— Lastly, You're free to interact with me if the requests are closed or you just want to be friends with me! Either is fine ^^
Tumblr media
Rules about what you're gonna request:
— The only available fandom that I currently can write are: Danganronpa, Ace Attorney, SDRA2 and YTTD. If they're not here then don't ask for it.
— Don't send any pregnancy request or even relating with it, writing it makes me feel uncomfortable and yeah, just don't please aa
— Platonics requests are okay! just be specific to the request if its romantically or platonically. But if its about a character that i cant write it in a romantically form then its an automatic platonic.
— No NSFW. Lemons, Limes, Make outs or even an hcs that are implied NSFW are no. I feel uncomfortable with it, and writing about it? Just no.
— The Characters that I cannot write in a romantic form but possible if Platonic are: Mishima Kazumi, Hifumi Yamada, TeruTeru Hanamura, Yasuhiro Hagakure, Nekomaru Nidai, Gonta Gokuhara, Gin Ibushi, Kanna Kizuchi, Pearl Fey, Cody Hackins, John Marsh, Nagisa Shingetsu, Kotoko Utsugi, Monaca Towa, Jataro Kemuri.
— Characters that I feel comfortable writing: Miu Iruma, Hajime Hinata, Junko Enoshima, Hibiki Otonokoji, Kanade Otonokoji, Syobai Hashimoto, Franziska Von Karma, Maya Fey [Justice for all and onwards], Ema Skye [in AAI-2, AJ timeline.], Kay Faraday [AAI2], Phoenix Wright, Mia Fey, Miles Edgeworth, Dahlia / Iris Hawthorne-Fey, Sebastian Debeste, Justine Courtney, Katherine Hall, Apollo Justice, Klavier Gavin, Alita Tiala, Sou Hiyori, Midori, Sara Chidouin.
[Note that just because they're here doesn't mean they're the only ones that I can write, I'm just comfortable in writing them since I've always search their characteristics and depths. But don't be shy in requesting other characters that are not here! It will be an honor to write other characters :)]
— People that I refuse to write for: Manfred Von Karma, Damon Gant, Blaise Debeste, The Judge, Kristoph Gavin, Daryan Crescend, Wendy Oldbag, Monokuma, Monomi or just Monokumas in general, Monocrow, Haiji Towa, Korekiyo Shinguji.
[Even as Human form or them being nice is a no no for me, sorry.]
— Yanderes are okay for me to write, even with platonic and along with the Yandere! Reader. Just be specific on what you're gonna request, And if you're gonna sent me a rape request? I'm sorry but get out. .. But keep note that I don't and will never support toxic relationships because writing a yandere theme story is already messed up so I'm not beyond crazy to support them.
[And do not worry, I will tag it as #TW:Yandere #TW , Just for you all to not interact if ever you all are uncomfortable with the topic at hand.]
— Do not interact if:  You're racist, Anti-Neopronouns, Toxic, Homophobic,Transphobic, Pedophilia, Sexism, Incest, Twincest and if you are one of those things or even all of the above, not only do you have to get out of this blog but you will be blocked.
[This goes the same if you support those things that I've mentioned.]
— I will remind you that this is a Reader x Canon blog but, if you want Canon x Reader x Canon then go ahead, you can request a polycule request, I don't mind.
[But if this is a yandere request, It's better if you don't request a Canon x Reader x Canon, I'm pretty weak in writing those so just avoid it pls.]
— The Games that I've played/watched are: Ace Attorney Trilogy, Miles Edgeworth Investigations 2, Apollo Justice, Danganronpa all games, YTTD up to chapter 3, SDRA2 all chapters.
— Also, I might add few rules if by chance but don't worry! The possibility is pretty low for now so yeah.
That's all! Thank you for reading~

HI. OK. SO. Im wayyy too embarassed to reveal myself (and also if anyone knew i was into yandere shit, id be shot on sight) but after constantly stalking your blog, god damn!!! Youve turned me over the edge about Damon having a breeding kink!!! Thats my fave shit!!!
I like to think that maybe he hides it a bit at first, but he just cant help himself when hes with you yknow?? Especially with his whole thing for loving such a domestic house s/o, to wanting them to be with him forever.. 👀
Plus thinking about his s/o begging for him to cum in them... Ooof...
(also ig after i send this ask ive totally committed myself, but call me Heart Anon? Or Swimming Anon if the first ones taken. I cant reveal too much about myself since itd be pretty identifying, but use he/him)
Welcome to the blog, Heart Anon!
First off, thank you for IDing yourself! You’re very brave for doing so, especially since, as you mentioned, you’d face backlash if anyone found out. I’m sorry to hear that you aren’t able to enjoy yandere content freely, but please know that this blog will always be a safe space for you!
Secondly, welcome to the Damon Gant Simp Club! We’ve already got three members (four if you count the mod) and we’re ever-expanding! I’m also glad you like my headcanon about Damon! (I actually hc all the detectives + some others as having a breeding kink, but we’ll get into it some other time)
Anyway, about Damon and his breeding kink... Yeah, he would not be subtle at all lol. He’d never say anything outright (at least not in the beginning stages of his relationship) but it’s obvious how much he wants to knock-up his darling. Sometimes he’ll make jokes about not wanting to wear a condom, or if his darling is on birth control, he’d try gently dissuading them from taking it.
Over time, he’d become more overt about it, like placing his hand on their lower stomach while hugging them from behind, or making off-hand comments about how nice it’d be to have a little one running around. Eventually, though, he’ll get tired of waiting and just straight-up tell his s/o that he wants a kid. And if they continue to deny him after that, well... He’s not above using dirty tactics to get what he wants.
(Damon would be a good dad, don’t @ me)

by ShadowCyberLink00
Private Investigator Miles Edgeworth has just arrived in the infamous town known as Kurain Village. While there he tries to investigate the legend that Vampires roam the streets of this small town. While investigating he meets a kind hearted young man named Phoenix Wright who seems to have no free will of his own, not if his fiancé has anything to say about it.
Edgeworth has to figure out what’s haunting this town and if he can stop it and protect the innocent people of this town, but as he keeps digging more on this mystery, the more he worries he’s putting Phoenix in danger.
Will he be able to find the truth? And why does it seem as though some of it has to do with Phoenix?
It’s a Vampire AU! I was originally going to just make this a one shot for my series but the idea kept growing so much that I just had to make it a story instead!

what would you say is miles and franziska's opinion of their careers; why they practice, etc. what inspired each of them to do this? is it more the defense of innocent people or are there other aspects involved?
(( The short of it for both of them regarding why they became prosecutors is Manfred von Karma. Undoubtedly he is the… inspiration for both of their career choices to use your word choice.
The long of it and their opinions on their professions is where they diverge and things get complicated. This is also the part where I note that I’ve only gotten up to the second trial bit of Bridge to the Turnabout and haven’t looked at any of the Investigations stuff, etc. so this is based off of canon in that zone & my own conjecture. Under a cut bc this is gonna be long I can feel it ))
Miles has… complicated feelings about prosecuting, though he’s found some solid ground to stand on. A lot of trauma and emotional manipulation went into shifting him away from his dreams of being a defense attorney toward becoming a ruthless prosecutor.
Certainly the DL-6 incident in which he lost his father was a hard push. Even with the nightly nightmares that made him wonder whether he truly was the murderer of his own father, the trial conceded that Yanni had killed Gregory but Yanni was allowed to go free on an insanity and I can only imagine how much that would sour a profession to a 10 year-old.
Von Karma’s subsequent adoption of Miles didn’t help matters either. Manfred is a vindictive perfectionist and forced Miles to become the ruthless prosecutor that his father would hate. One that cared only about perfect records and using whatever means necessary to achieve those ends. He manipulated Miles endlessly and the events of Turnabout Goodbyes imply Manfred knew about Miles’ nightmares and so I find it hard to believe Manfred wouldn’t use that information to both drive a wedge between Miles’ attachment to his father and frame all of this as some sort of redemption for patricide. And there’s no way Manfred would ever let Miles try to weasel his way out of guilt with claims of it being an accident, that’s not this asshole’s style.
So for Miles I feel there was, initially, a more redemption/repayment elements involved with his drive. He needed to repay a cosmic debt and one to Manfred for bringing him in and giving him all he had. Certainly there’s deep-seated animosity toward defense attorneys in general, but I feel like guilt was more Miles’ early driving force. Honestly you can boil down a good number of his behaviors to actions done out of guilt.
The events of Turnabout Goodbyes certainly rocked Mile’s convictions to the core. There’s nothing quite like finding out the man who adopted you was the one who murdered your father and then was planning on framing you for another murder to make you reconsider every single belief you’d ever held. But he still had some footing. The idea of his job being to find the truth was somewhat grounding even if that idea was just budding and was barely formed. After all, he was put together enough to be prosecutor in Rise from the Ashes.
Which… unfortunately was another case that shattered Miles’ view of his job. The whole thing was tainted by the notion of him possibly forging evidence or manipulating witness, an accusation he was used to and took in stride because he thought that he’d never sunk that low. But a bulk of the resolution involved laying out plain as day that Miles had been given forged evidence to use. He didn’t know it but he still used it in court. And on top of that Damon Gant spent the last of his time on the stand asserting that Miles and him were the same and Miles would see everything Gant’s way sooner or later.
Gant and Manfred are very similar people, who did very similar things. Having Gant say Miles was just like him was also a link to Miles being just like Manfred and that… shattered him entirely. I’m honestly this close to writing a drabble based on that but listen.
For my interpretation, Miles did legitimately try to commit suicide after that but failed and fled to Europe to get away and try to sort it all out.
Now I think he’s far more grounded and sure that his job is to help find the truth. It’s not about winning. It’s not about perfect records. He’s more solid in these feelings after taking time away to really consider the job and what he wanted to be. And I think that view serves him well and is the reason he functions so well as an impromptu defense attorney in Bridge to the Turnabout.
I won’t say everything is completely settled. Manfred emotionally manipulated and conditioned Miles for fifteen years and he feels a great amount of guilt for those tainted convictions and his behavior but he’s working on it.
Franziska is… different. From the moment she could be aware of it, she knew she was going to be a prosecutor like her father. There was no other way around it, she was supposed to carry on the von Karma legacy. The story was written, she just had to play her part.
And I think, once Miles entered the household, competition entered her driving force. I can see Manfred easily pitting the two against each other. Franziska is definitely a more competitive person and so any mention of Miles surpassing her in any way drove her to push herself harder.
Additionally, not to be too cliche, but some jealously of Miles getting more of her father’s attention probably fed into her early push to be a great, no perfect, prosecutor. After all, Franziska had already bought into this whole strive for perfection at any cost but Miles had to be coerced out of old thinking and Miles was part of Manfred’s obsessive revenge plot so he likely got more attention ( as manipulative and abusive as that attention was ).
( Which isn’t to say Franziska was abused any less, but I can also go on for days about Manfred’s treatment of his children and am trying to keep vaguely on topic. )
( Or that Franziska doesn’t love her “little” brother, because she does and cares for him endlessly. And Miles loves and cares for her too. But I could also write novels about that. )
The fall-out of Turnabout Goodbyes was a jolt of a disconnect for Franziska. Her father, whom she strove to be, was no better than the people he’d convicted. A murderer and a liar. The man she thought her father to be didn’t exist. He wasn’t perfect. He may have been a genius but he was a flawed and arrogant genius.
So she disconnects her worth from making him proud. She disconnects from him. But the process is… incomplete. Manfred’s lessons remain, stuck hard and fast to her psyche. You can see that in her reaction to Phoenix’s reaction to his “loss” in Farewell, My Turnabout; she’s almost offended that he could smile after losing a case.
Franziska still sees her work as something to be perfect at and perfection o her is win streaks. She’s softened a bit, you can see that by how she behaves in Bridge to the Turnabout. Like yes, she still wants to crush Phoenix under her heel, but she’s less antagonistic and I think it’s because she took a little time in Germany after her confrontation with Miles in the airport. And I think being shot in the right shoulder woke her up somewhat.
The scar is right where her father’s had been. And she kept the bullet - not like her father had but she still had it. And I think that facilitates more introspection regarding who she is and what being a von Karma means and what it should mean. Which is why she shows up to court in Bridge to the Turnabout and shakes off the judge describing her as Manfred von Karma’s daughter, stating that she was a von Karma and that was all.
And why she tells Phoenix she wants to beat him “for herself”.
But I thinks she’s on the way of viewing prosecution like Miles does. After all, in Bridge to the Turnabout he sorta does for her what Phoenix did for him.
So tl;dr Miles’ current drive is a certain measure of guilt and a heavy dose of duty to the public. Franziska is driven by pride and some measure of competitiveness with her brother.
Also Manfred is a fucking asshole and I would dropkick his corpse off a cliff if I had half a chance.

The Blood that Runs Deep in his Veins
Read it on the AO3 at https://ift.tt/338jDN1
by ShadowCyberLink00
